Prologue:

Have you ever had any family day trips on a skyship? In
summer, you might have flown over rapid waterfalls, soaring
high above the sand and across the wavy seas. When you flew, there
would have been light blue skies, a quick, cold breeze and that amazing sense of freedom. When you flew there would have been
the forest far below, narwhals jumping higher than a frog from out the sea with their shiny tusk and even a school of swimming turtles. You probably got taken to one of the nearby islands and landed the ship so you could have a bonfire and enjoy the glowing stars. Travelling by skyship in the summer is just like that.

But travelling on an expedition to unknown lands is another matter. You should try a skyship adventure when the thunder rumbles in the storm, the hail throwing itself to the ground and the sky is split apart by lightning. You should try being there when the Ruined dragons attack or worse- make you pass out from fear. You should try being there when the food runs out and there isn’t even a trickle of water in the taps. Few people would wish that on anyone. Even experienced flyers think many times about travelling west through the trees. No one knows what things might hibernate there. Rumour has it that there are snow-owls, uproots and komodo-dragons. Few would wish for an encounter with the broodals… and most say that the rumours are real no matter what and beware.

Chapter 1:

The crowd applauded as the skyship Tenshi set off into the
clouds and floated there for a few seconds as the Tenshi
flew above the crowd. Captain Violeta faced north and gripped
the old, wooden wheel, her look was surprising and was beaming
with glee. They were up in the air!!

Izumi and Natsu glimpsed over the skyship as the Tenshi gently
rose up. Beneath them, they could see crowds of screaming people
cheering for them until they look like a mass of tiny dots. The Tenshi
travelled beyond the sea, passing over billions of narwhals and a
swirling circle of fish that moved like a tornado.

They could hear the gust of wind that blew right past them. While
waving goodbye, they both turned to each other with Izumi smiling
with joy. Natsu smiling back until his stomach felt like he had
butterflies fluttering around in there and his face turned completely
white as if this adventure would be safe enough for him to be on this
journey.

After a couple of minutes admiring the gleaming sun, the Tenshi was soon to be somewhere. Izumi glazed underneath her and watched the ocean waves slowly overlapping onto the sand. Natsu groaned, “I wonder if we’ll see any snow-owls or even komodo-dragons.” he murmured, while playing with the tip of his hair.

Izumi clutched onto the pole beside her and replied “I’m really hoping we could find the broodals on the way, I heard they’re rare bunnies.”

That very night, the ship started falling in twists and turns. What might have caused this tragic mess? The engine was making sounds like a car had just broken down from a lorry. They were tumbling down from the sky!!

Chapter 2:

Over the next couple of days, the engine got worse and worse each day. Izumi tried to fix the engine (which didn’t turn out as planned) since she knew how to fix engine’s. Their sails were torn apart by the hail that heavily fell from the sky. As the clouds drifted away, Natsu was sure that he could hear voices; see trees dancing: blinding lights in the distance. As they were passing very rapidly, the lights suddenly disappeared. Natsu believed that he had imagined them and didn’t know where they came from, for all he knows.

Natsu glanced over the edge. Suddenly, the light glimmered in his eye. An island was resting in the middle of the ocean by a few rock pools; a school of fish; a cliff with a rapid waterfall dropping into the ocean, splashing onto the sand. Natsu instantly screamed “Look! An island, maybe we could land there.”
“Excellent spot Natsu!” Captain Violeta roared out.
Izumi snatched the map off of Natsu. “The island is called Possessed Palm trees…” she trembled.

Luckily Captain Voileta was certain it was a good idea to land on this unknown island. As the skyship got closer to the island it began to break down. Although they were close to the island and could hold on a little while longer, they landed on the ocean and pulled the Tenshi onto shore before it could sink. Quickly, everyone searched until Izumi found a ship laying on top of sharp rocks and bushes.
“Hey guys, look what I found, come see!” exclaimed Izumi.
Captain Violeta and Natsu ran to see what was going on.
“What did yo- NO WAY!” said Natsu climbing onto the random ship.
Izumi and Captain Violeta joined him to find clues. They looked everywhere: on the bookshelf; under the floorboards; by tables; on top of things and there was nothing.

As Natsu strolled through the trees, a black sort of thing ran past. He heard something behind him. Natsu turned around… What could this creature be?

Chapter 3:

Natsu was frozen to the spot, the creature came out of the dark and revealed itself.
“What… what are y-you…?” he stuttered fidgeting with his fingers.
“Oh me? I’m an uproot but…you can c-call me root..!” root answered politely.
After a long talk, Natsu asked very sudden;y, “Do you think you could help us on my friends and my journey?”
Root immediately nodded “Where are you off to?”
“Broodals…!” exclaimed Natsu, jumping around feeling cheery.
Shocked, uproot handed him a shiny gem and a map to track where they’re going. Natsu smiled as he turned back round to go to the Tenshi.
“Be careful!” shouted root.
With no reply, Natsu was off.

After hours of running, Natsu found Izumi. He randomly gripped her hand and took her to Captain Violeta. As Izumi was trying to ask Natsu what was going on, she suddenly tripped.
“Ouch! Natsu, help me!” she screamed while covering her bruise (which was starting to form) with her hand.
Sweat trickling down his face, Natsu helped Izumi get up .
All of a sudden, Captain Violeta appeared out of nowhere.
“Ah, you’re here, I need to tell you what happened to me!”
Captain Violeta replied “ Ok sta-” she said being interrupted.

2 hours of enthusiasm, Natsu finally finished explaining. Captain Violeta and Izumi were standing there in shock. They were standing there in silence until they all noticed that they were wasting time, so they ran as fast as a racing car and managed to get to the ship.

Captain Violeta’s breathing quickened as she was getting the nearly-broken engine started and ready to go. Suddenly, an uproot caught up with them trying to pull the skyship down to the ground, stopping them from travelling anywhere. Until…

Chapter 4:

Captain Violeta steered the wheel trying to take off. The creature -which is known as the Headless Broodal- gripped its legs onto the edge of the skyship. Suddenly, Izumi pushed its feet off the Tenshi and it fell to the ground with a great big…THUMP! As hard as it tried, the Headless Broodal couldn’t get up. Unfortunately, some nasty uproots came to help it up. How will they fix this?

Its bloodshot eyes stared at Izumi in terror and began leaking out wine red blood. It levitated towards Natsu as fearless Captain Violeta came to the rescue and kicked its hate as she swung to the other side on the rope (which was attached to the Tenshi.) The broodal picked up his hat and immediately pushed Violeta to the ground, while Izumi was distracting the creatures, who were behind many trees.

Izumi and Natsu got together and showed the creatures, including the Headless Broodal, while Captain Violeta scurried to the Tenshi trying to turn the engine on. Finally, Violeta managed to fix the engine. Isn’t that amazing? The other two screamed “ Have you done the ship YET?”
“Yes, hop in!” Captain cried out.
They both dashed to the skyship and buckled up ready to lift off. Again, the Tenshi fell to the floor and everything came apart. Joyful, the creatures huddled up near Izumi and Natsu and Captain Violeta. Everyone was trying to attack.

Hardly daring to breathe, Natsu luckily remembered that he had a magical gem. He instantly grabbed it out his left pocket and shone it in the Headless Broodals eyes as it tried to camouflage itself with its raven black body.

They all gathered together, watching other creatures slowly walk away. Izumi began working on the bottom of the Tenshi while Natsu and Violeta did the top. Something tragic then happened…
Natsu was laughing with the others (about something) on the outside but on the inside he felt homesick and sad.

Admire The Stars Shining;

Skip joyfully to the riverside’s

secret garden gate, which is

covered with a variety of vines.

You see yourself surrounded by

a flutter of blue butterflies.

Behind the trees, you witness

magical, flying fairies and buzzy 

bees collecting nectar.

Seek to the end of the riverside’s

land, and admire the stars shining

in the night sky.

At exactly 3AM, an invisible, oak bridge

will appear.

You shall walk across the wooden planks

and glance around until you see the

chest full of many delicate diamonds.

Dear Captain Harriet Culpepper,

I am writing to apply for a job on the Skyship with the crew as a member for your next journey. I may be able to help you on your journey as I have many skills.

First of all, I am proficient at cooking. I would therefore be able to bless your fellow friends with a specific meal, which also means we won’t feel famished on our adventure.

Secondly, my qualifications include a degree in flying skyships as I was once a member of an old crew on a skyship (before they threw me off.) As a result of this, I would be able to take the role as a fearless captain if needed.

I am experienced at art as that is my previous experience. This might be useful if we need some research on a mythical creature and we need proof of what it is and that we saw it with our naked eyes. 

Finally, I would like to point out that I have a lot of knowledge and experience of the job -I would like to apply for- and am very excited to get the job. I will also keep a close eye on anybody you don’t trust.

Please consider me as the captain.

                                The Explorers Handbook:  

The handbook (which is alphabetical order) will help you along the way; what equipment you’ll need; and what you should avoid along your next magical journey. It will also explain what can kill you. I hope this helped enough for your adventure.

A-D:

Beware of the shining amulet near the ancient trail because there is a chance it could make a curse. Watch out for the bridge as there may be trolls living under it. Never touch the curse crusher or else… you may be cursed yourself. If you see the half-starved dragon make sure you hide in the best spot – so it can’t see you – with any chance.

E-H:

Look out for the energetic elves on your way as they may invite you to have a tea party together. As you pass the carnival, don’t stop for the fireworks as they are trying to hypnotise you. Gelatinous cube is a very strong and powerful gem that can be used with a wand for magic spells. The Hearts Fire has no control over it and can burn the place down.

I-L:

Be careful of the island near the sea, as you may get attacked by a variety of pirates. My advice is to bring a jacket of invisibility with you, only if you seem to have one, but you can get them at a shop called ‘Jackets Made For Humans.’ Watch out for the band, who all have Kacoo’s, sometimes they can be loud and make your eardrums feel like they’re bleeding. Look for the levitating sword amongst the trees to defend yourself.

M-P:

If you need any help along the way, ask the Manticore, she might give you the map. Beware of the Nightmarchers, which are ghosts, as they can take your soul. Ogre’s might wake up if they hear too much noise so I suggest you be silent as you’re going past. Be wary of the pixies as they can be a bit rude and vicious sometimes.

Q-T:

The Quetzalcoatl will follow you everywhere you go, unless you drive/walk on the ‘Path of Peril.’ Don’t pass Raven’s Point as you might fall off a cliff since it’s a dead end. Go into the ‘Swamp of Dispair’ so you don’t fall to your death. Use the Thunder spell in this handbook (to fight the trolls) as it is very powerful.

U-X:

Ukko is a very uncontrollable spirit that won’t stop doing dangerous things until night. Never walk near the Viper as it could bite you and you will be poisoned. As you make your way amongst the jungle, grab the  wand in front of a tree with a number on it. Use X-ray vision to find where the phoenix gem is.

Y-Z:

 Some Yeti’s may pop out and scream their lungs out, if you hear it you must run away without dropping anything nor looking back. A zombie might also approach either the back of you or the front of you and eat you alive, so be careful out there my fellow friend.

On the island of Frosted Glaciers,

I spotted rough, sharp mountains

in the distance. A bird-winged eagle

soaring through the sky.

On the island of Layer Cake Desert,

I witnessed a cactus with glochids all

over it. A camels bump as hard as a palm

tree stump.

On the island of Sparkling Waters,

I saw a large lake as shiny as the

sand in the sun. Many trees waving

at you as you pass.

On the island of Water Waves,

I saw a drake and a hen standing

on top of the frozen lake. A small

frog jumping in the swamp.

On the island of Soda Jungle,

I witnessed a Tree-Swinger

swinging from vine to vine.

Its tail hugging the tree tightly.

What to do if you met an alien?

If you are astonished or horrified by an unexpected meeting with a strange looking thing, well no worries because here are some instructions that I advise you to read to help you.

If a UFO pops out of nowhere and like 7 of these creatures walk out, well stay calm, they’re nice. Just read these instructions and follow them carefully.

Luckily, no equipment is needed.

What you need to do:

First, check that this is really an alien and not a random extinct animal. If so, this could lead you to an awkward situation with someone or even your postman. Identifying features may well include:

.Eats a variety of mars bars because that’s their diet

.Talks weirdly or in a spanish accent sometimes even German

.Has a pouch and blue skin to camouflage

.It also has a mushroom growing on its head (which is poisonous)

Next, be wary of its shyness, if you interact with them they could possibly take it as a sign of you being mean to them. Try and start a simple conversation and they will begin to trust you.

Finally, if the alien seems a bit too aggressive then you have a few options to choose from: 

.Scream ‘Don’t come any closer’

.Get a weapon to defend yourself

.Find the colour red and shine it in their eyes because they run away if they see red, they think it’s the master of the aliens trying to attack them.

If you ever come upon an alien, remember to follow the instructions otherwise you’ll have to face the consequences. The consequences can cause you to die. So I’d suggest you follow the instructions.

How to know if you’ve been abducted by aliens?

.Did you wake up this morning have a weird button stuck to your arm?

.Are you forgetting something?

.Are you wondering where you are, but you’re just at your house?

.Have you started talking to yourself?

Dear Purple Shadow,

I am writing to persuade you to become a superhero; I think you would be an excellent superhero and your time is running out.

My first point is because this is your dream, remember the time when you tried to fly like a superhero, just think about all the old memories you had. You might even be able to get the job of becoming a superhero; if you are lucky enough.

Furthermore, I am concerned that you and your twin brother are not exactly communicating to each other, (nor sitting next to each other at: breakfast; lunch; or dinner) so I thought if you start talking to each other more often you could end up being a team.

I would also like to argue that if you ever had a team, you will need to stick up for them. I would also like to mention that if you were allowed to be a superhero in your city, you could perhaps live your own life instead of being stuck at home cooped up in your room. You need to be a superhero! Come on!

To build on this concern, once you are a superhero you could become famous from saving millions of lives and people, but if you work with your brother you both need to share the credit since your both saving creatures; people; and buildings. When you do become a superhero, do not use the weapons you are using at home. They are out-dated and will be horrible to use.

I would like to point out that if you do not start now, it will be too late and you will not be able to go save pedestrians. I will just say that if you start at the age 60 and over you will end up making mistakes and hurting yourself from how old you are getting. So I would start now!

Although some people suggest starting later on in life, we believe that you can still become an outstanding superhero.

On the other hand, many people argue that saving people is hard and is not the right thing to do every single day, but I think you can do that and hope you become a superhero.
