Chapter 4 

The engine was purring like a kitten  and the propellers were humming like a content bee. The anker was hauled up and the guns were loader with a satisfying click Toni was sent to the boiler room she looked at the skyship-propeller and smiled she said boiler check she ran back to the deck just in time to see the balloon rize with hot air and take off “ballon check.” She glanced over the deck and saw the propeller being invaded by small green creatures with large sacks on their back  disabling them with sharp knives! “Check” Toni whispered “no” then they crawled over the rail and instantly got blasted back to earth by the multiple guns guarding the ship. After a minute or so the crew had arms and were helping in the conflict but it was a fight they were losing. Were they going to survive?  And which knife would be the death of her…

The goldlings had advanced on to the deck and were swarming up the  balloon the crew couldn’t attack them with guns incase of gas explosions, so toni snached   up the billionare stick and threw it in to there amidst when she done this there was a blinding flash and gold poured out of the tip of the long elegant stick and the goldlings rapidly opened there sacks and cramped all the gold they could fit into them then with an almighty jump one by one they fell back to earth and the crew where left awestruck by the amazing event that they had witnessed. they set sail and never returned to that cursed island. they are still out there even to today they are just floating wondering why they  sacrificed the stick.

By the time the sun had  risen , the crew were already up doing jobs and the only one left ironically was Toni so she lesherly strolled out into the open forest and as she  was walking she realised she hadn’t seen the captain all morning She decided to look for her seeing  as she had nothing to do she looked high she looked in caves and rivers. 

Then the braken ruffle and the trees swayed then a blood curdling scream shook toni’s bones   then the captain leaped out of the bushes screaming run so Toni and the captan called the crew and they ran back to the ship and under the cover of multiple guns the captain explained she found the billionaire stick and now the gldlings*were coming to reclame it 

Captain was reading the ship to leave but it was too late, 

*Small  goblin like creatures who love gold

Go  to the  border between  reality and unreality,

And travel to the centre of the rainbow bridge.

Catch midwinters breath,

And ride the mist to the top of any forgotten mountain range. 

After this you must call upon the frost giants,

and preserve some snow in their mouths.

Receive this and sledge to the trees of summer. 

Once there, place the snow in the care of its roots,

A door will open.

Enter and you shall find the lost explorer.

Suddenly, Ashlly woke up and he could hear the sound of sirens. He turned and woke the gorilla. Then, Ashley looked through the window, which had only 3 pains, and could see the guards. Because he was scared, Ashly hid under a crate  and the gorilla slunk into the shadows (which seemed almost inviting compared to the dingy mill).   

The guards burst in! After that  Ashley  Ashley tried not to breathe.  Because he was nervous he looked at the gorilla. Ashley could see the gorilla grab a pole,that was dusty with age; the gorilla squeezed it with all his might. The guards did not have time to run, yet one still called on his radio for help (he was the first to die). The gorilla and Ashley  dived for cover under a huge tarpalling. The reinforcements were here; Ashley whimpered.  The guards swang torch beams around and  it briethy sweeped over the tarpaulin   then the guards moved onto the next room 

The ground was cold and damp yet the gorilla was as soft as a pillow and the because they guards moved off Ashley was relieved, in this moment of peace he had an idea was the gateway at the town  hall ? 

It would be a long walk that Ashley would have to endure; they would take the alliways to the forest. Then threw the gardens and finely the long climb up the church to the square and run to the hall from there.

Outside, a jagged tusk of lightning spewed across the night sky elomoating the small town of Brandon. Inside, Ashley stumbled through  the ramshackled warehouse where he was planning on hiding, yet the cracks in the roof let in the snow; Ashley’s prints stuck out like a sore thumb. Broken beams lay at insane angles, timbers and crates lay discarded everywhere and branches hung down through the damaged roof. To his discontent, he stumbled and fell. A few seconds later, he was up and running  (he almost ran into several crates and walls). He came to a corridor. He tripped again and rolled to the end of the corridor and stood up. He groped up the door and yanked on the handle. He was going to die.

 Threw the window in the door  Ashly cold see the man in the gun pointed at his head 

But at that very instant an almity moan  shook the building to the core not one but two eyes beamed out of the darkness. In a  second the beast was upon him and the man

It was almighty, massive and black. Ashley realised it was an ape , a massive gorilla it frew dack its head and beat his chest the man ran yet Ashly was glued to the spot with fear.

The gorilla twisted round to face Ashly, it materialised into what must be an uncomfortable position. He could see that she had an almighty scratch on her chest and it was bleeding. He had never been next to a creacher that cold rip his arm off no problem. Jet felt peaceful around this creature as he watched the fur ruffled across her back.

For what seemed like an eon they stod watching each other. Ashly felt intimidated, jet prowd scared jet curios  in the end curiosity got the better of him and he reached out his hand for the gorilla  to touch. Its eyes were beautiful yet Ashley could tell she was sad.

It was then she spoke it was a calm voice yet harsh “i need you to help me.” said the gorilla 

“We need to find the gateway” the gorilla moaned   and hummed, Ashly said ”you need to rest.”

3 hours later Ashly was by the water looking across  at the old mill the pair crossed the bridge and entered. It was dark inside yet the building had a roof terrace so the gorilla could sunbathe. Inside, there were vines crawling up the walls, there was a **** tree in the center and the gorilla was already climbing. Ashley stood guard.      

Wednesday 8 february 23

It was a cold winter dusk and in the shroud of Brandon, it was snowing. Not the happy snow you see on tv. The wet pulp like mush that never settled. The snow poured down and smothered  the streets swallowing anyone that dared come out of what were supposed to be homes. Ashley pulled up his hood and  looked at his parcels of meat and bread which were ready for the rich in the uptown, where he wasn’t allowed because everything about him was just a little bit darker but he trudged on. The wind howled between the soot covered buildings. Ashley glimpsed at the laundrette. The sun could just be seen lighting the streets highlighting the filth and muck as the sun rose higher and higher. He stood there until mid day watching the sun rise and grow. It was then he came to his senses, his dad would shout at him for not delivering the parcels from Roly Deals (where Ashley and his dad Roly ran the shop and worked) it was so quiet, too quiet.

He ploughed  through the snow, its coldness waking him yet chilling him to the bone. He walked until he finally found the checkpoint it was a giant of a building towering out of the snow the gard barked “beggar ”  “yes sir”adam squeaked    “your id” he growled “here sir”Ashly squeaked  “you may pass”

In the higher social status of Brandon people were doing last minute christmas shopping hurrying  in and out of Primark and Marks and Spencers there warm illuminating  glow warming his hart. 

He trudged past an ally remembering he was a foreigner a no one a speck on the english land  no one cared for him no one he glimpse a flash of silver in the ally he looked in the a gnarled hand clenched around his throat then he was looking in to the barrel of a gun “give me anything you have of wealth” he spoke in a rasphing tone the words came in short breaths his attacker said  move or i pull the trigger. The gun was now in the small of  his back. A gag was put on him and he was shoved back into the ghetto his dad told him never to use allies like this leeding from the higher social status to the ghetto. Any one cort using them would be sentenced to death for not consulting the guard at the checkpoint they past another person the man stood up and kicked Ashleys capturer (called jeff) in the ankles and he collapsed jet as he fell th shot it ricocheted off the wall and smashed a window the owner poked his  head out and started shouting curses at Ashley and his companions his first capture shot him dead  the second person who kicked the original capshore in the ankles picked up Ashley and cared him a few steps decor a mighty roar shook the ally it was louder than gunfire Ashley screamed then it went black
