Onward

Aaron threw the staff on the ground and walked outside the cell block that had once been the home of the brute and stood in an empty lot of grass near the cell. Just then, a large skyship emerged onto the the lot, making Aaron’s shaggy hair fly in the breeze. Door of the skyship opened up and Aaron’s wife & son Jake and Charlotte came running up to him, both giving him a hug. They had come to rescue him! Him and the rest of the crew jumped on board the silver-birch plated skyship and Charlotte took the wheel.

Aaron went to play shuffleboard with Jake when he saw a silhouette out the corner of his eye. He dismissed it, thinking it was a crew member. He hit the puck, and it rolled down the tawny-brown painted silver-birch wood. He heard birds chirping as they flew across the ice-blue sky, singing happily as they went.

Just then he saw the shadow for the second time. This time it was unmistakable as the monster that had attacked him a couple of days ago! Aaron threw his stick on the floor as he pulled out his sword, ready to attack.

Just then, it started running! “C’mere you!” Aaron shouted in frustration. “You won’t hurt my crew or my family again. Not now, not EVER!” He lunged at it, missing by an inch. He noticed that as he lunged, the creature was a sort of.. brownish colour.

He shoved the thing down with his sword, and found out it was a toy dummy on wheels! The crew had tricked him. He dismantled the dummy and yelled at his crew “Who did this?” He heard a snigger from around the deck. He was about to yell out at the man but he took deep breaths and decided not to.

He went back to the shuffleboard area and explained the whole story to Jake and continued playing shuffleboard. After a while, the sky turned an orange shade, so Jake and Aaron agreed they would go to bed. But when Aaron Woke up, Jake was nowhere to be seen. “Oh no.” Aaron thought. “Here we go again.”

Chapter 3- The Creature

…A single gold coin laying on a big, fluffy, maroon red cushion. He lifted it up to his face to get a good look at it, a net fell on him! He struggled and strained but it was no use. The net was too strong. He was stuck. Just then, a shadow came in front of the tower, blocking his view of the ever-fading dawn. Aaron thought the shadow might have been one of his crew, but he saw he was clearly wrong, as it definitely wasn’t human. He started sweating, then his fight or flight instinct kicked in. He put his fists up. “Listen you.” He yelled. “If you attack me, I have a whole crew to destroy you!”

“That will do nothing.” The shadowy figure hissed. I already killed half of them.” Aaron then remembered half his crew were gone! The figure started to step closer and closer the net Aaron was in. His heart thumped heavily as more and more sweat dripped down his face. In a flurry of panic, he whipped out his emergency pocket knife and cut himself free. He lunged at the creature but it jumped back into the sunlight. That was when Aaron got a good look at it. It had a cracked, ancient helmet and crooked, long fingers. Black, weird slime oozed from its skinny limbs as it’s dark, creepy aura shined around its weathered, rusted armour. In a panic, he flicked out the knife that got him out of this mess and stabbed the thing. It hissed and reeled forward towards Aaron but he ducked just in time, and called for help. First mate Noah ran in and shot a musket ball in the chest of the creature. It fainted. When it woke, it was in a small cell with Aaron guarding him. Aaron chuckled and turned around, staff in hand.

The dragon

Orange, luminescent eyes stare out the creepy cave, looking for its next meal,

Scales glisten in the dark moonlight, shaking in the wind like wind chimes.

It’s yellowy-brown teeth scrape together, sharpening them like a sword on flint.

The dragon’s wings beat silently as it watches and waits for an unlucky human.

It’s mouth starts to smoke as it prepares it’s fire breath to attack, like charging a flamethrower.

The ice surrounding the cave shines like glass in the sun as the heavy snow beats down outside the cavern.

Dog, Dog

Dog, Dog,

Why do you bark until the morning ceases it’s end?

Dog, Dog,

how did you get such silky fur?

Dog, Dog,

What did you do to get such soft, shiny ears?

Dog, Dog,

Who gave you such thick claws?

Dog, Dog,

When did you finally get such sharp fangs?
