Should Dragons be normalised members of human life?

Following recent events, we have been talking about whether Dragons should become normalised or thrown back into nature. This is a heated argument currently due to the large sums of Terra Draconi living near local towns and cities, which is creating a worrying and fearful atmosphere for many residents.

For years, the majority of humans believe Dragons should be far away from civilisation because they are known to attack farms and livestock and even house pets. Additionally, they have been known to tear down houses and wreck whole countries. To add to this, many people say Dragons are instinctive thefts and rob people in the night and then flee.

In contrast, other people debate that Dragons should be able to live in proximity to humans to prove that they have renounced the savage ways of predecessors. Having listened to evidence, Dragon experts say that having Dragons will help them study in their expertise, and maybe create a harmonious existence between both human and Dragon. Many Dragons preside over different elements, and this could help humans greatly.

Having made conclusions, many councils have decided to allow Dragons to be near humans., much to the disapproval of a few residents. Should Dragons be allowed to be near humans? Should Dragons be able to live in harmony with their fiercest enemy?

Terra Draconus

Terra Draconus

Many different classes dragon populate the Earth. The most speculated of all in the Earth Dragon, or Terra Draconus , as it is scientifically known, is considered an intriguing specie.

Could you find a Terra Draconus? Most likely, you may fail at finding one, but few have been spotted. Like the majority of dragons , they live in the valleys of Greece, but recent sightings of Terra Draconi have been found in Italy and even China. Typically, they have visible veins of dark green moss and scales of minerals that can be mined deep in the Earth. The Terra Draconus have been around for millennia, and they have been referred to as ’The Pillars of the Earth’ by the ancient people.

Can you catch a Terra Draconus? Probably not ; they are extremely strong and trying to catch one could be fatal, but you can still spot one. The most common place to find one is the Greek Valleys. They often come out at noon to hunt, so you have to stay completely hidden. You also may have to avoid the glare of the Terra Draconus, as it can turn you to stone. Once you’ve seen it, you have to be patient for it to leave because Terra Draconi are extremely sensitive to noise and movement.

Wraith’s Cottage

Exhausted and tired, Heather lolled down the stairs, almost tripping herself up due to her carelessness. As she reached the bottom, she froze so that all she could hear was a lost silence that filled her house with drowsiness. The cat tangled around her feet, shrieking for food.

Not half an hour later, Heather was at the door of Wraith’s cottage; a once simple home that was razed to the ground in a fire, hence the new name. Tall apple trees shielded Heather from the moonlight above. The lake glimmered in the stars luminary rays and owls hooted contently. Dazzled by the sounds, Heather drifted off into a slumber, filled with dreams of amethyst palaces and mischievous pixies.

Heather awoke with a start, she could spot a strange silhouette dashing between bushes. Panicked, she began to run. She could hear the strange figure chasing her. Breathing down her neck. Thorns sliced her legs but that was the least of her problems. Heather cried, but her screams were drowned by the whipping rain. The moon glared down upon her mercilessly. The last thing Heather heard that night was her own desperate screams…

The Library of Alexandria.

Helen stared around the library, fear etched on her face. A spider crept up the large window; cobwebs strung between books on shelves; a small, lonely desk lurked by the door. The breeze smelt like acrid smoke invading her lungs. From the balcony, where it was murky and dark, came the sound of something shuffling, something wheezing, something breathing. But that was not the worst of her problems. Helen ducked behind a massive crate and hoped…

Melanie And Katie: Shy and Snazzy

Melanie and Katie: Shy and Snazzy

Melanie gently pushed open the door, knowing she was late. The minute she passed the threshold of the classroom, the class’s eyes shot towards her. Melting into her chair, she muttered, “Sorry im late.” Mr Brime groaned on about decimals while Melanie bit her lip in frustration. She couldn’t process the furious glare her dad gave only an hour ago.

Not a second later, Katie flew into the classroom, happily skipped in and collapsed into her chair opposite Melanie. “Morning Mr.B!” she chuckled unashamedly, intruding on the maths lesson. ” I would have come earlier, you see, but I was too busy doing my hair and couldn’t fetch the bus in time.”

Katie dug a frilly pink notebook and a matching pencil out of her lime green rucksack and pretended to be extremely interested by Mr Brimes explanation of how to convert a fraction to a decimal, as if it was the most fascinating thing that ever hit her ears. Melanie wasn’t listening. She was still flushed crimson with embarrassment and kept thinking, “What did I do to make dad so upset?” She kept constantly thinking these thoughts and all clogged her mind. While Katie hummed calmly and passed notes to her friends under the tables, Melanie stared at her feet, wishing she was as popular as Katie; Toby, however, knew how she felt.

Forgotten

Forgotten

Outside, the wind howled like a coyote. Cold bit at the air, gnawed at people and swept over buildings. Persephone crept soundlessly across the freakish graveyard, clutching her torch, trying to comfort herself, but it was no use. Fear was too strong. Harsh winds whistled threateningly around tall gravestones, which were glaring ominously down upon her. She could hear voices uttering, “No happiness for the forgotten,” and forgotten she was. No family, no shelter and no sympathy, yet she still felt encompassed by an abnormal presence.

Haiku of the Seasons

Season Haiku

Snow lays soundly

The smell of turkey wafts away

Lifeless trees stand lean

The sun glazes down

The ice cream van sings a sweet tune

Children play outside

Crisp leaves descend down

Golden sunset rises up

Bountiful food arrives

Flowers grow and bloom

Pastel blossoms punctuate trees

Daisies wake up again

Seasons come and go

Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring

Round and round they go.

The Elephant

The Elephant

The elephant’s ears are broad and soft like ancient leather.
Its trunk sways gracefully from side to side, swatting in violent
sandstorms.
Its thunderous feet pounding the sand, as if forever trying to split the earth.
Its wrinkled old skin is flabby and stretched, like clothes that have been long worn.

It’s lost eyes like deep black scarabs, searching for mercy in every soul.

Its long trailing tail swinging murderously; an able weapon.

The elephant trudges off into the distance, Its tracks covered by sands of time.
