The Elephant

The Elephant

The elephant’s ears are broad and soft like ancient leather.
Its trunk sways gracefully from side to side, swatting in violent
sandstorms.
Its thunderous feet pounding the sand, as if forever trying to split the earth.
Its wrinkled old skin is flabby and stretched, like clothes that have been long worn.

It’s lost eyes like deep black scarabs, searching for mercy in every soul.

Its long trailing tail swinging murderously; an able weapon.

The elephant trudges off into the distance, Its tracks covered by sands of time.
