The snowflake unicorn

Grace Hall, 38 years old, news reporting

Breaking news, at six o’clock last night, three small, snowflake unicorns have been spotted in Ashton hiding in the shadows of buildings. Later that night at 10 o’clock they were caught breaking in to shops, houses, bakeries, schools and churches.

Last night, Evie Wilson, age 17, was about to go to bed when there was a bang downstairs… she got up and hurried down the stairs to find an energetic horse-looking creature rummaging through the kitchen cupboards. Then she suddenly noticed a sharp silver horn sticking out of its small head and a snowflake mark on the creatures’ neck. “I felt worried about my things, and then called the police,” she explained. “when they answered the phone and I told them what had happened and they said that there have been two other reports about them already, one in a clothes shop and one in a church.” Evie said that she was shocked to hear this. When the police got here they had a vet with them and the vet put a needle in the unicorn and made it go sleepy and tired. Once that was done they took it (in a horse box) to a nearby forest and set it free. “Also they helped me tidy my house when we got back.”

Advice from the police is to keep an eye out for them and if you see a unicorn report straight to the police.

The Rainbow Unicorn

The Rainbow Unicorn

There are many different breeds of unicorn, but one of the most famous unicorns are Rainbow Unicorns.  They are soon to be extinct (there are less than 100 left in the whole world), if we leave them alone and preserve their habitat.  Have you ever heard of these fantastic creatures?

Habitat

Typically, these flying beasts can live in small, fluffy clouds and large, colorful rainbows.  However, they sadly disappear in bad weather, but return when nice, hot weather comes back.  Up in the large sky, Rainbow Unicorns do things with their herds (with approximately 15-30 unicorns in each).

Appearance

This type of unicorn, has wavy rainbow marking on the thin coat, mane, tail, and spiral horn. Amazingly, it has large rainbow wings that are invisible to most living things except from other unicorns.  They have small turquoise eyes that can see for miles. When placed on rainbows, their little hooves go purple and sparkly.

Diet

Rainbow unicorns have a particular diet of fresh red apples and carrots, which have large stems and leaves on them.  Furthermore, they sometimes eat parts of clouds!  These funny creatures only drink rain water, which they get very rarely.  An extra special treat for them would be thick, white cream, that can be found only underneath certain clouds.

Behaviour

These excellent creatures do long distant flying very rarely because they travel with rainbows most of the time!  They like sun and the heat from it. They often sleep on soft, fluffy clouds for 14 hours.  Unfortunately, when rainbows disappear they are unable to fly properly.

Finally, be careful because, even if you ever meet on of these mythical animals and touch them, you will turn into water or even worse ice! Moreover, you will stay like that forever.

What are…

What is small? A cute, little puppy walking or the first time, a baby foal lay down with its mare and a snail making a path down the road.

What is big? A giant dinosaur charging across a big desert, a large elephant, a double-decker bus roaming the busy streets of London.

What are heavy? A large picture frame hanging on white walls, a punch of chopped down autumn trees, an aeroplane gliding through the rough skies of Russia.

What are light? A small new-born baby lay on its mother’s lap, a feather of a pigeon, a robin flying through the light blue sky.

What are pretty? A small child running happily through felids of long grass, a gold fish swimming in its small tank, a cupcake decorated beautifully.

What are ugly? A bear that has just died, a pig that is rolling in mud, a monster eating is breakfast.

What are hot? A pan cooking spaghetti, a volcano erupting, the sun in summer.

What are cold? A snowman stood lonely on a winter morning, an ice cream in the freezer, the handrails on a cold day.
