The Maverick Episode 2 Libby

They had landed. Nathan and Nicole glimpsed at the vague clouds poised above them. “According to the weather, the storm has passed; we should carry on west. I’m sure we can make shelter somewhere there.”

“Wait!” Nathan exclaimed as he pointed to a strange circle of stranded stones, towering over the cactus’ in the barren desert, “We could rest under those stones for the night.” So, Nicole gathered soft lumps of grass and dry leaves for comfort, and Captain Blaire used some of the tools, that he had collected from the sky ship, to create a long-lasting, warm fire which ended up being a damp pile of wood leaning against one of the rocks in the stone henge. After nightfall, Nathan was  awoken by the uproar of screaming. After he calmed Nicole down fully, he rose and appeared to be in a claustrophobic room…they all did. Nicole, Nathan and Captain Blaire weren’t just in a new land, but inside the mouth of a human-sized Venus Fly Trap – rumour had it that it was the fifth most dangerous animal known to this weird planet.

Nathan then remembered that when the dragon tried to devour him, he had snatched one of the dragon’s teeth.

“Nicole , Nicole!” Nathan screamed aloud. “Tooth , dragon tooth!”

“What do you mean?”

“No time to explain,” he rushed.

Reaching into his pocket, he grasped the dragon tooth in confidence and stabbed it violently into the bursting guts of the fly trap. Running the dragon tooth through the wounded body, his arm gave out the last of its energy. With the fly trap only cut half open, Nathan fainted. “Nathan! Nathan! You’re my only hope!”

“Excuse me,” Captain Blaire explained, “I’m here too. I can help! You and Nathan aren’t the only ones here. I am. Do you understand?”

“Yes, yes! Just stop complaining and get us out of here.”

When the fly trap was dead, Nicole and the forgotten Captain Blaire climbed out, and observed the sight of a dream location. Stones towered atop each other, streams of waterfalls spat little drops of water on their bare toes and a huge, white mansion stood before their eyes. The sun shone on the wooden balcony below. The entrance pebbles left a huge luring glare to anyone or anything who stares. However, Nathan, who was still being dragged along by Captain Blaire (who did not like it) wasn’t able to take in the beautiful landscape. When, “Nicole, Nathan,”came a voice, “Nathan, Nicole,” came another….

A Sky-Ship Explorer’s Survival Kit

Libby S EPPSA

I would take a silver, diamond-centred compass that states a clear portrait of the destination.

I would take a pocket-sized bottle of curing medicine for healing any wound or injury, with enough liquid for three separate doses.

I would take a golden, scintillating sword to combat the enemies in your tracks, slicing through their unstoppable shields and armour, loyal to you no matter what.

I would take a nylon parachute that can guide you to your specific destination, by creating a map reflection on a nearby piece of rock or ground.

I would take a crystal, glass jar containing 3 wishes of protection, that was given to me by a goblin queen who appears when you make the request.

I would take a folded broom that, when unfolded, flies you in the sky and can take you through the tiniest of cracks, helping you flee from your foe.

I would take a unicorn horn to signify words in the air and mail them as communication to someone for help.

I would take an everlasting box of matches, that can keep the fire perpetually flowing in a way to shoo away all the moths and bugs.

I would take an enchanted, fiery towel that, when rubbed on oak, gives you the courage to do anything, but don’t get to carried away as you may try the impossible and not succeed.

I would take a magic perfume, that, when smelt, gives you the power to change form into your thoughts (like a lion to catch food or a squirrel to climb trees.)
