The Magic Necklace.

Prologue

Donna and Olive told Olivia all about how Professor Thunder had locked them in the little shed and about how he had wanted that necklace. Luckily, Olivia had managed to escape and rescue them. After all the chatter, Olive came back with a hairy blanket and chucked it over them all. “Sorry. It’s the best I could do!” she muttered, staring at the ground. They had managed to escape from the shed, but still questions buzzed around in Donna’s head. Where was Donna’s dad? Would they get the necklace back? She didn’t know.

Chapter 4

Donna dreamed. She was sprinting down a winding corridor. She had heard a voice. Every time she thought she was there, the voice drifted away. “Mother!” she called, “Is that you?” It was her mother’s voice, she was certain. Six draining long years had passed and all she could remember was a soft, gentle voice and a tall shadow. Donna was worried that she would never be able to remember her mother again.

Suddenly, she awoke. Morning had arrived and strong sunlight shimmered through the shelter they had slept in that night. Olive was snoring loudly, but Olivia was nuzzling her head in her fur. Olivia’s head tilted up as she noticed Donna put the key through the door. A few moments later, she yawned and whined. “It’s about time we get your necklace back.”

“Fine. I was all cosy and snugly until you two started chatting!” muttered Olive.

A little while later, the three jumped over the wooden bars to where the Butterfly Hot Air Balloon rested. The fuel was filling the balloon so fast. They watched as Professor Thunder carried something and chucked it on board. He ran back to FencePort Castle and Olivia whispered, “Let’s rock and roar my friends!”

They ran along the pathway. The children dawdled behind her. Luckily, the mcguffin was there among all of the paperwork.

“You little thieves!” screamed Professor Thunder, breaking into a run towards them. Before she could blink again, Donna jumped onto the hot air balloon and they set off into the sky.

Seconds later, Professor Thunder shouted at them, but they were too high up to hear him.

They could only hear a faint whimpering sound.

A croaky voice shouted below decks. There they found Donna’s dad. Donna rushed to give her dad a hug. “Hurry up.” he whispered, “we will do something about that old mean person. Trust me.”

Donna and Olive gazed down at the world below them. Olive smiled at Donna as she looked down at her shoes. The wind brushed onto their faces. Donna was back with her dad again. It was beginning to feel like Christmas again.

Prologue

Later, the two girls awoke later, the two girls and the lion awoke to find themselves locked away in the wood shed. There was a tiny little hole on the wall, just about the size for a rat to wriggle through. “What an evil man. My dad trusted him.” Donna sobbed. She banged on the door. “Help! Help! He is a clever man isn’t he. He’s locked it and probably tied it with rope.”

“Say hello to our new home,” whimpered Olive, not really wanting Donna to hear.

“Don’t be NEGATIVE!” screamed Donna. “WE WILL GET OUT OF HERE YOU JUST WAIT!”

“Alright then, no need to shout,” whispered Olive so quietly, nobody could hear her. She looked at the floor, not sure what else to do or say…

Chapter 3

For the rest of the day, Olive was grumpy. However, Donna didn’t give up and kept searching for ways out of the shed.

She looked at the little hole she had seen earlier, it was just too small, not even a mouse could fit through it. Donna screamed, shouted, she even banged on the door, but of course no one heard her. There was no one nearby.

Every few minutes, Donna would shout at Olive, “You could at least help me instead of sitting there like a coward!” Olive didn’t seem to have heard her, she sat there lost in space. She ended up staring at the window. Was there a way of breaking through the glass? Donna spent what felt like days trying to break the glass with a hammer she found on a shelf.

“Olive, I can not do this on my own. Please help me. You’re stronger.” she yelled at Olive.

“There is no point Donna and that’s that. I’m sorry but it’s no good.” Olive moaned.

“How do you know? You haven’t even tried!” Donna stared at Olive. Olive was meant to be kind. Why wasn’t she helping?

Olive sat miserably for the rest of the day. Donna raised her eyebrows, she was filled with fury. Olive seemed to be proving right at the moment. There probably was no way out. It was evening. The pair seemed to have given up hope. Inside, groans were happening and outside shadows loomed around the shed.

Just as they were going to sleep, they could just make out a scratching sound. It was Olivia the lion. She was using her paws to make the lock open. “Let’s go!” whispered Donna, waking up Olive.

A few moments later the lock opened and Donna and Olive felt the cold breeze brush past their faces. Olivia led the way and Donna and Olive sprinted close behind. Olivia led them to a little shelter where they could warm up.

The necklace-Chapter 2

Prologue

“You probably should, we gotta go to FencePort Castle now,” roared Olivia “ROAR!”

Chapter 2

The second they arrived at FencePort Castle Donna’s heart sank. It wasn’t what she imagined to look like. There were no lights in any rooms. Darkness all around. She looked up to her dad’s room and there was no smoke coming out of the chimney. Lily groaned as little drops of rain splattered onto her hood. She reached down and grabbed the keys from her little purple handbag. CREAK. The door opened. Every step they took there was an awful creaking sound. No pictures of their family hung up anymore, instead there were pictures of a professor.

Donna sprinted to her bedroom with Olive close behind and Olivia sniffing round the place sniffing like mad. Donna fell to the ground to find that her room was a mess. Floorboards were missing, the door knob to her cupboard was broken, there were feathers all over the floor from her featherdown pillow and most importantly she managed to open her cupboard and found her diary.

Olive picked up the diary and the best news in the world made a smile appear on her round face. It was the necklace. Her mother’s necklace. It had the butterfly printed onto the collar like Donna had been telling Olive about earlier that day. “Wow this is amazing. This necklace is really rare, no wonder people are after it.”

“Oh! I get it now” cried Donna, staring at the beautiful necklace engraved onto the necklace.

“I agree,” came a deep voice echoing through Donna’s bedroom. Donna gasped. She knew who this man was. This man was Professor Thunder, her dad’s old friend. He itched his ear and grinned maliciously……….. “I’ve waited ages for you to come back and collect your necklace. Look over here, it’s your father!” he cried, Donna turned her head to her balcony hoping to see her father. He wasn’t there. Before she could say something mean back to him he snatched the necklace out of Olive’s arms.

Later, the two girls and the lion awoke to find themselves locked away in the wood shed. There was a tiny little hole on the wall, just about the size for a rat to wriggle through. “What an evil man. My dad trusted him.” Donna sobbed. She banged on the door. “Help! Help! He is a clever man isn’t he. He’s locked it and probably tied it with rope.”

The Butterfly Necklace

Prologue.

The Lady Lenka ship was out on the English Channel. Olivia and Olive were on the ship, heading towards France. They were halfway when all of a sudden a loud bang caught their attention. “Woah!” roarded Olivia, “I wonder what that was!” The pair hurried to the closest window and peered over. To their surprise, it was an iceberg! Olive ran to the captain’s cabin to check he was OK. “Captain, are you-” the captain turned round slowly, it was as if he was being controlled. This wasn’t Captain O’hanad it was…..a stranger!

“Olivia! The Captain he’s bad. It is not O’hanad. We need to jump! Like NOW.” Olivia and Olive got the safety boat and threw it out of the window and jumped!

Chapter 1.

At Caroline Simpson’s School for Girls, Donna Smith was in the playground alone. “I wish Olivia and Olive would come one day to tell me the news. I’m going to go see.” she thought.

Climbing over the fence, Donna saw Olive and Olivia crouching by a tree.

“Your dad gave us this necklace for you ages ago. He told us to go on a ship to France to meet you.” whispered Olive.

“Those were his last words to us.” muttered Olivia.

“Some bad people are after the necklace. We’d better keep it safe.” cried Olive.

Donna nodded her head, she couldn’t help but being reminded of her mother who had died after a man wanted the necklace and shot her! She wondered whether her dad was OK now and hadn’t died in the helicopter crash.

At that moment, Olivia let out a roar. “By golly, are we just going to stand here all day. At least you don’t have to go back to that dreadful place.” She looked at the horrible school that Donna had just been in.

The next morning, Olivia awoke to find Olive and Donna standing outside the jewelry shop. Olivia went out to see. Donna was telling Olive how she would often stare out of her bedroom window at the jewelry shop and stare at the necklace her mother had got. Now she had it. The rare necklace with a purple butterfly printed on its front. “You can stop now if it’s making you feel upset.” cried Olive.

“You probably should, we gotta get going.” screeched Olivia. “ROAR!”
