Journey to The Five Mountains Part Three

Part 3 of Journey to The Five Mountains

Examining the floor, pawprints about the size of Janes hands flooded the ground. Something was lurching around them. Although Jane wasn’t scared she still wanted to figure out what this creature was. A few minutes before, Jane and Benjamin had heard noises and made out in the distance some horns but didn’t think they were related. It was probably a trick of the light even though there was a dirty mist covering the island. Well, they thought it wasn’t real.

As Benjamin carried on looking non-interested in what was happening around him, he rubbed his sore nose from the experience earlier on when he had banged into a grape juice hill. He was still really confused. Jane rummaged through her dark blue denim dungaree pocket and found a pen. It was a fountain pen that for some reason always leaked. Her dad had said it leaked with magic but being scientific and strategic Jane, she couldn’t find an excuse to believe him as it had stained her last pair of dungarees.

The pacing worry of what would happen next circled Janes mind thoroughly as she studied the emptiness around her. A red outline (that finally got Benjamin awoken to the sights around him) jumped into plain sight from the bushes were the pawprints had stopped. It was some sort of devil with blade-like eyes and daggers as teeth. Suddenly a tail flashed at Benjamin, who shook with fright at the sight of a creature that he had never seen before. There were two of them now. One head to toe in blue like a cat that had been reformed into a dagger and the other had black horns like a goat and crimson-red body with black dusty wings. Jane got out her ‘magic’ pen and threw it at her best aim. As she gracefully focused on the pen that was leaking at an amazing amount it hit the red flying devil and gold blood peeled out the side of the beast, just in time before Benjamin would have got ripped to pieces. Not knowing what Jane was capable of, the other strange demon scampered back into the bushes.

While Benjamin was still figuring out what had just happened Jane hurried over to the pen that was actually magic. Jane (whose heart pounded with joy) had noticed something. Something wasn’t quite right. in the distance she could just see something attached to a tree. It was a parachute. Just then a mist crowded around the two siblings leaving them struggling to breathe. Suddenly everything went black…

Journey to the Five Mountains Part Two

Part 2 of Journey to the Five Mountains

Jane stared round to see towers of soil but no plants or inhabitants anywhere. Looking back across the rocky, misty shore all she saw was the sky ship sadly floating away into the distance. Like a knife to the heart, the shock of looking up to see flying oak tree was amazing. Towering over Jane the large tree sunk further and further to the ground. In the nick of time a weed grasped on to the rough surface of the tree pulling it up again before it squished Jane.

Why aren’t the plants allowed to touch the ground? While Jane was figuring that out, Benjamin was busy building a sand castle with very weak sand and it kept toppling over every time he built one.

Once Benjamin had given up on sandcastles, the blur came back. Well not a normal blur, it gathered dust and objects as it got closer. Mist hurdled over the floating oaks and leaves propelled of the trees, willows bent in the wind and as the island went dark the blur got closer and closer.

As Benjamin ran he got tired and had no choice but to rest for a few seconds and then carry on soon after, but Jane had other plans. She carried on. The two siblings ran as fast as their hearts desired, Benjamin tired and Jane desperate, panting and pacing to as far as they could go…

Smack!

Benjamin had run head first into a squishy and slimy liquid whereas Jane had bounced straight through, liquid seeping through the gaps of this odd structure.

As the dust slowly disappeared out of view the situation was easily discovered. The shining golden sun lunged into the sky creating the liquid to melt. Jane crept out, head to toe in juice and Benjamin rubbed his nose better. There was a whispering noise, strange and quiet. There was an animal with horns and a cat tail in the distance. The myth was true…

Journey to the Five Mountains

Journey to the 5 Mountains

Introduction

Jane wrapped her hands round the bars, struggling to grip, as her brother Benjamin used all his strength to help her up. Jane had been looking over the side of the air ship too far and had suddenly fallen overboard. Benjamin who was sweaty and tired, (and not the strongest 10-year-old boy) was trying his hardest to save his sister. They needed to stay together to reach their destination; The Five Mountains. A journey that had been explored but no one had ever managed to come back to tell the story.

Chapter 1

The captain rushed down to the bottom deck of the airship to see what had happened and yanked Jane back up onto the airship’s deck. As the red-faced captain went to see if Benjamin was alright, he realized he had made a big, no, a huge mistake…

At that moment the airship started to rock. It tipped up and down and soon barrels and supplies were hanging off the edge and falling. Eventually the captain made his way to the top deck where the steering was controlled and turned on the self-control system before he grabbed a parachute and dived off the airship making his way to safety, leaving Jane and Benjamin struggling to get back up again.

“What was that?” Benjamin questioned.

“I think the steering department was a little bit out of control!” replied Jane with a giggle.

“Well I’m glad its all over now,” they both agreed.

As soon as they were both up and standing, a massive thud was heard from the top deck, forcing them to jolt back down to the deck. Meanwhile, In the distance a blur was appearing, getting closer and closer towards the airship. A crafty dragon (called Minerva) was sneaking onto the ship and controlling the steering wheel. As the airship tipped over, further and further, the children were flung up and forced to jump off the railings into the teal blue sea below. In the distance they saw some sort of mountain, looking exactly like the one on the map.  As they swam towards this mountain they realized that it wasn’t just a mountain, but an island, a somewhat abandoned looking place. Jane and Benjamin hurried on to the shore and looked up thinking it was their mission solved, before seeing no snow, just sand and a volcano.

“This isn’t one of The Five Mountains is it Jane?” exclaimed Benjamin looking up at the vast landscape.

“I don’t think it is,” replied Jane looking worriedly across the shore…

9 things to bring on a sky ship

9 things to bring on a sky ship

I would take the sword of a knight (filled with bravery and loyalty) to win the fights.

I would take everlasting binoculars, retracting to the moon to see beyond the edges of the world.

I would take a box of truth (filled with honesty elements) in case of captures and emergencies.

I would take a pandemonium of parrots complete with an extra-big voice box to keep the conversations going.

I would take a mystic necklace, small but great to teleport me wherever I need to be.

I would take a courageous panda as small as my hand to guide me through the rough times and the dog days.

I would take the sparkles of the sea acting like fairy dust to keep the sky ship afloat and flying.

I would take a magic rubber, expanding into a boat (in case of trouble) so I can sail away into the horizon.

I would take a Tardis tent so I can fit all my family on the sky ship to explore the world with me…

The Otta Dragon

THE OTTA DRAGON

Eyes like shards of dust, bubbles from the ocean floor,

Skin as smooth as a lake, a long, curvy current from the sea,

Jaws like daggers, once belonging to a vampire,

An anchor for a tongue, like a ship lost and gone,

Shiny scales attached to the back of this sea beast, blinding lights shine back and forth.

A tail that can camouflage into any background, hiding from the world,

Strong and mighty, this dragon has a small spine reaching down to its tail,

Feathery like an eagle but as sharp as a needle, swooping through the river bank and up into the sky.

Sticking out of its toes, talons as straight as can be and as strong as the world.

Just a bad dream

You are the door between life and death

You are a willow tree bending its way to the ending

You are a broken mirror, losing its reflection

You are a door closing on light

You are a dream making its way to a nasty nightmare

You are a sly fox moving to the shadows

You are a girl waking up from a bad dream
