Darwin stood silently in the cold breeze, glancing at the maroon door, while Bubbly foraged hopelessly for an open window. Darwin examined the corroded lock, but it was too tight. Exasperated, he hissed at Bubbly for not helping, “Rather than staring out the window, at least help me.” However Bubbly just moaned, saying that it was impossible to escape.” Darwin sat down, kicked the door and screamed with frustration. It looked like there was no way out.
As night conquered the sky, the rooms became gloomy and sombre. Inside, silhouettes extended across the hallway and soon darkness engulfed the whole building. Outside, specks of light covered the gloomy sky and the moon cast an unusual shape along the grass of Leftstall Rooms. Abruptly, Darwin heard a cry of joy. It was Bubbly, his mechanimal. Darwin wound him up, and he placed a golden key into his hand.
Using the key, Darwin carefully unlocked the door. Darwin and Bubbly dashed out of the hotel at last, following Bubbly to the safety of an abandoned estate. Even though they were free, questions remained untold: Where was the watch, and why did Doctor Fish take it?
