Chapter Three – Through The Portal
What she saw was rather fascinating: a golden path with a carefully carved in flower pattern; little houses made out of the finest type of birch; a magic filled waterfall connecting the whole entire world together; a six story building with a enormous clock floating above it. The building was built like a hospital. It had a unorganized front desk with papers dancing around in the air. But, the whole entire land was abandoned or that was what Winifred thought…
Winifred’s head was filled with curiosity. She started to roam around the ‘hospital’. A few moments later, she realised that every clock had a bloody handprint placed on them.
Her hands started to sweat. Her face turned as white as a ghost. Her entire body started to shiver. Her heart skipped a beat.
“Hello?” she called out.
But to her disappointment, there was no reply.
Winifred continued to search the ‘hospital’ to see if she missed anything. She found a room that had it’s light turned off. It was like there wasn’t any power in it. When she was thinking why the light wouldn’t turn on, she noticed a green spark flashing at her.
In that moment, right there and there, she heard a crawling sound right above her. It didn’t sound like it but rather like a brocken staircase when something steps on it. (Winifred has a flashlight by the way). She turned her flashlight on and stared at the ceiling. It now had a black ooze dripping from it onto Winifred’s head.
Without even noticing what is on her head, she continued to look above her, making sure that the ooze wasn’t some sort of creature. It was only making a tapping sound when it was dripping onto the floor. And then, a noice was coming from upstairs, not the tapping but rather scratching. Carefully, Winifred crept up the stairs and looked in every room. Her eyes widened when she saw it: dismorphed black body; lanky arms with nails as sharp as daggers; a head shaped like a clock. It was eating something. She tilted her head and saw that it was eating fresh human flesh. (ryhm?)
A scream escaped Winifred’s mouth. The entity turned around. The ticking on its head stopped. And a red ‘run’ sign appeared. It got up and started to limp towards her. Another scream escaped her mouth but this time, followed by a run.
She ran down the stairs as fast as she could, while it was crawling down on the walls like a gigantic spider. Winifred stayed focused on her steps. Then she reached the first floor. But the door was stuck. It wouldn’t even budge. She turned around and saw it running towards her. And in that moment, it lunged at her.
“Darling are you alright?” said a faint voice, ringing in her ear.
