Unicorn instructions.by polly

First, make a nice , cosy nest for your unicorn to rest and lie down in but make sure it  is  an enclosed space so that your pet doesn’t run away.

Next, put some fresh water out in buckets. Also make sure you top it up every day because unicorns are extremely thirsty creatures. To feed the unicorn you will need: normal hay, moon beams (moon beams collected from a full moon are full to bursting with extra nutrition), fresh rainbow slices (this may take a while to harvest!) and finally, a spoonful of star juice (found in special supermarkets) in order to keep the vet away.

Then, every evening take your unicorn to the park making sure there are no other animals around as they are shy creatures especially when they are little. It is very important that they trot around for at least fifteen minutes so that they keep fit and stay happy.

Also, you must groom your unicorn at least once a day- this means that their coat will be soft and smooth. Pay particular attention to their mane and tail because if you don’t their hair will get bushy and tangled and this results in them become depressed. Every week make sure you give them a warm, soapy bath to keep them entertained and relaxed.

Finally it is extremely important to show your unicorn some love and kindness. They particularly love having their hooves and their horn tickled with a feather duster (the feathers Must come from an ostrich and only an ostrich because if not, they will get a horrible rash everywhere!) Most importantly have fun and enjoy your unicorn!

There has been a strange sighting at Woodborough CE primary school. It was a Griffin on year 4 class

Most students ran in all different directions but others said “It is so cool I want to ride on its back ” teachers ran to call parents to come and pick children up from school .It was described as a fearsome beast others said “It is a amazing sight. The police said that “if anyone is found guilty of letting such creature into a school they will be arrested immediately.

Unicorn sighted

Yesterday morning, we spoke to a resident in Honey Street , 85 year old Dorothy Bright who was convinced she saw a unicorn in her driveway on Tuesday morning.
“ I was just putting my bins out when a huge creature dashed out on my driveway. I thought it was one of my neighbour’s horses but in fact it looked like a unicorn- it had a long , pointy horn, snow -white fur and it was rather beautiful .”
There has been two other sightings of this creature in the Honey Street area. One from the owner of The Barge pub, who was convinced he saw a unicorn like animal leaping over the canal. Another witness claimed to have seen the same unicorn flying over Woodborough hill

“ I couldn’t believe my eyes , it was a magical sight .” Exclaimed Nora Wellington  who lives by Woodborough church.

Scientists – Unicornologists to be precise, have been called to the area to investigate the sightings and have asked the public to call the police if they see any more of these peculiar Raincorn animals. Remember to always keep your distance and never feed them human food.

The Raincorn’s Interesting facts.

The Rain Unicorn or Raincorn as it is sometimes known, is a magical creature that is hardly seen. Amazingly, the Raincorn can make it rain after particularly dry times by tapping its hoof three times on a special cloud.

The Rain Unicorn lives amongst the fluffy, white clouds found higher up, towards the moon. It lives in a small herd- normally about thirteen of them, known as a Corncophany. At night they huddle up and form a unicorn trust circle and fluff up the clouds around them to protect their young from being taken by their enemies (who are the terrible Drought Unicorns from the South Sahara skies).

The Raincorn are a wonder to look at, if you are lucky enough to see one. They have shiny, ebony black, swishy-long manes with glints of diamond dust. Their eyes are shaped like rain drops and are as blue as the deepest ocean. Surprisingly, their fur is multicoloured with each colour melting into one another as if the rain has smudged them together. Interestingly their hooves are normally orange but can change to the colour green in the sun.

Their diet is extremely surprising but perhaps not for this magical creature- they eat shooting stars which are caught by their handmade star-sucking, golden trumpets. They dip the stars in edible cloud dust that tastes like gummy bears with a hint of lemon. For a treat, these spectacular animals eat moon rocks which have different tastes- such as: watermelon grass; pumpkin pie and custard creams filled with mayonnaise (sounds disgusting but they love it!)

The Rain Unicorn can show different types of behaviour at different times. When it is raining the Raincorn is delighted and shows off its happiness by leaping over rainbows. However, when the weather is hot and sunny it usually curls up in a moody, sad ball and its mane looses all its sparkle and shine. Additionally the unicorn is usually scared of lightening and aeroplanes and acts in a very skittish way.

Many people believe that it is good luck to see a Raincorn but very few people actually have. So remember to look up to the clouds when it’s raining and if you look very closely you may see a glimpse of this fantastical creature.

The door of colours

Through the sky blue door, I saw a marshmallowy cloud float past me. I smelt seasalt spraying off the waves. I tasted a blueberry that fell from the sky.

Through the violet door, I heard a chirp from a purple humming bird that soared around my ears. I smelt sweet bubblegum that floated around the sky in bubbles. I saw a indigo moon that smiled down on me.

Through the page white door, I saw bright, white seagulls circle in the distance. I smelt white roses from a large bush nearby. I tasted a chip from the silver stars.

Better be off by Polly.

“We were a few metres from the village,” explained the captain, “when we noticed there wasn’t anyone there. We heard a swoosh and we turned back to find one of the crew lying on the floor, dead. The next moment, the rest were gone and I ran at the speed of light, but just as I was coming up the ladder, it bit my leg.”

“What was it?” Asked Layla and Oliver

“I don’t know. But we had better be off as soon as we can!”

Layla brought out the bandages, wrapped the Captains leg up and kept an eye on him as he slept. Meanwhile Oliver was on deck fixing the sails.

Suddenly, he heard a knock and a scratch on the ship. Oliver cautiously looked over the side and saw two of the crew laying on the floor, looking almost dead. He shouted for Layla and when she came they pulled the crew up, making sure that they made the least noise possible.

Again, Layla patched the crew up and watched them sleep, while Oliver fixed the last sail.

The next day was very gloomy, but they set off hoping that it didn’t follow them.

A new crew member by Polly

Someone on the ladder was screaming. Oliver, who was terrified, hid in a dark corner. Layla, being Layla, went over to see who it was. Before she knew who it was Layla pulled them up. Through the blood and bruises she saw it was the captain.

Oliver helped the captain into his bed. “What happened?” asked Oliver.

The captain replied in a whisper “The crew, they’re gone.”
