Better be off by Polly.

“We were a few metres from the village,” explained the captain, “when we noticed there wasn’t anyone there. We heard a swoosh and we turned back to find one of the crew lying on the floor, dead. The next moment, the rest were gone and I ran at the speed of light, but just as I was coming up the ladder, it bit my leg.”

“What was it?” Asked Layla and Oliver

“I don’t know. But we had better be off as soon as we can!”

Layla brought out the bandages, wrapped the Captains leg up and kept an eye on him as he slept. Meanwhile Oliver was on deck fixing the sails.

Suddenly, he heard a knock and a scratch on the ship. Oliver cautiously looked over the side and saw two of the crew laying on the floor, looking almost dead. He shouted for Layla and when she came they pulled the crew up, making sure that they made the least noise possible.

Again, Layla patched the crew up and watched them sleep, while Oliver fixed the last sail.

The next day was very gloomy, but they set off hoping that it didn’t follow them.
