MY CURIOSITY

My Curiosity My curiosity is made from- A dictionary of everything, spilling these words unstoppably into my head A vortex of intelligence, leaking mindfulness and consideration inside my mind A stone-grey cat, clumsily knocking plants off the windowsill, annoying my mother The fearfulness of a mouse, scampering away from a marmalade kitten

You can find my curiosity- Crouched stealthily in a litter of kittens, absorbing the love and affection of the others Stranded in the unknown contents of the universe, observing the mysteries that surrounds it scrapped in a junkyard, waiting patiently to be recycled, like it has all the tine in the world washed up on an uncharted island, like a marauder stranded with no ship to sail home with

My curiosity can- construct unknown constellations into reality, like a architect designing a mansion cascade down a ravine like a hero rescuing a lost explorer who has traveled miles until stopped adventure into the unknown and discover the lost contents of our lush, green planet

If I lost this curiosity- the world would fall out of control and even the birds on our roof would change…

CHAPTER 2 OF STORY BASED ON WHEN THE SKY FALLS

Your probably wondering what was in the cave, and it’s my job to tell you, so I guess I have to tell you…

James peered around in the darkness, seeing and hearing nothing. Hatred flooded through into his head, making him think he had been fooled by an old woman. That was until, a low, throaty growl broke the silence. The enraged boy stared into the shadows as the black shape of a cat emerged from the darkness. But this was no ordinary cat. This cat was a jaguar.

The beast’s fur danced like a ballet performance under the midnight moon. The fearless hunter’s eyes blazed with the flame that bursts life into the darkness and cruelty of the world. The cave guardian’s fangs looked like they could tear the poor boy’s soul up in seconds.

The boy was stabbed in the back with fear. He stepped back from the beast, The watching in terror as the predator stalked its sure to be prey, making notes of all the movements James made. ” I found her injured in the first fall of snow. ” Ms. Grumbly explained, ” Luna’s just beautiful, isn’t she?”

“Luna?” James repeated. Over the months that passed, James’ fondness of Luna grew and grew, until every day after school the young boy would rush through the forest to meet Ms. Grumbly, but not only to avoid stepping on something poisonous, but also so he could see Luna. Luna and James’ bond grew each second they spent together. The boy only followed Ms. Grumbly’s orders when he was shouted at, and those orders where to set traps incase someone discovered Luna.

The young boy gathered mousetraps and a rusty bear trap that looked like it hadn’t been very successful at catching bears, but might be useful at protecting a Jaguar. After stepping in a rabbit trap set by Ms. Grumbly to catch him off guard, James now regrets rushing through the forest. But after the traps were set, there was still more work to be done…

unknown rooms poem

In the room of xxx In the room of remembrance, my heart, scalded with sadness.

In the room of time, I waited and waited but it didn’t happen.

In the room of hunger, greed, endless greed.

In the room of confusion, minds, fooled by trickery.

In the room of shadows, creatures roam the night, shrouding minds with fear.

In the room of stars, I gaze up at astral wonders.

In the room of freedom, I bound over fields of green, happiness flooding the room.

In the room of riddles, puzzles with no solution.

In the room of mountains, I climb peaks with ease.

Finally, in the room of rivers, the flow of magic, never obstructed.

THE MUSHROOM GIANR

The Mushroom Giant The mushroom giant is one of the lesser-known species of giant. The appearance of the mushroom giant The appearance of the mushroom giant is not what you’d expect: They have no eyes, so they get around by their smell; a large mushroom cap which shades their face, with the females having one that droops to the bottom of their neck; and males have special mushrooms that grow on it’s back hat absorbs bacteria; and their skins have toxins bubbling on it.

Behaviour and diet The mushroom giants tend to wander their territory alone, but every blood moon, they gather in the deepest part of the Forest of Dean to mate. Then they leave and return to their territory. If you ever spot one of these creatures, silently move away, as these creatures are very hostile. Their diet consists of very few items: deathcap mushrooms, redcap mushrooms, and occasionally a stray goat. So don’t get stuck underneath tis thing in the food chain!

Now, I believe that you’ve learnt something here about these hideous and hostile creatures, and even if you didn’t, don’t blame me if you get eaten by one of these… things.

chapter 4 of story based on when the sky falls

The next day, the blizzard raged. “It’ll be oawlright tomarrow.” Mr. Jamaal reassured. It didn’t convince James though. It was always like this. Since James arrived it had been like this. But still the white flakes falling from the wind-swept sky continued to whip the back of 12 year old James while he strolled through fields of plants, dead from the freezing temperatures of Northern England.

Whilst snacking on a Cornish pasty, James had an idea. He dropped his Cornish pasty(Please don’t drop your Cornish pasties. It causes offence to Cornish pasties. Also, you never know when a mutant Cornish pasty might try to eat you.)and rushed out of the door, leaving his Cornish pasty inside 23 Kitty-Cat Road(Please don’t leave your Cornish pasties inside 23 Kitty-Cat Road. It causes offence to Cornish pasties. Also, you never know when a mutant Cornish pasty might try to eat you.)to put his plan into action(For all you evil villains out there, it isn’t an evil plan).

Outside, the blizzard blasted ice into every crevice left unguarded. Inside, the heat of the living room and Ms. Grumbly’s favorite chair tried to suck James back into the house like a black hole, sucking all the heat(and James’ Cornish pasty) inside. Desperately, he searched the village and beyond: the fields of decaying plants, their frozen stems smothered with sand-like snow; the depths of the shadowy forest that Luna’s cave settles in unsearched; and the granite paths that surround the area that Billie normally torments small children(and sometimes James). But, he had no luck, so he was down to one last hope.

Mr. Jamaal likes to have a nosey around the village and eavesdrop on the unsuspecting idiots that don’t know what 37892 x 36715 is. Trust me that sum is like 1+1. The answer is 1,391,204,780 for all you (stupid)people who didn’t know the answer. Back to my story, James kicked the nosey man’s door, which would normally get his attention.(being the lazy man he was)The door swung open, revealing a grumpy, old man in his pajamas. “Waddu yu wan’ now?” he roared. “I want to know if you’ve seen Billie Stupid around here?” James articulated in that posh manner that Caspar Jamaal liked. Caspar recited his memory silently before speaking again. “No, I ain’ seen ‘im lately.” bellowed Caspar. ” Thank you for your information.”

That was almost 79 years ago though, and I did eventually find him, whispering nonsense into Luna’s ear, stroking her furry back. A few years ago, Ms. Grumbly texted me saying that Luna had disappeared, with just as little fuss as she had arrived. A friendship born out of hate.

PART 3 OF STORY BASED ON WHEN THE SKY FALLS

Long winter days stretched ahead like a criminal on a medieval torture machine. Every day, James would check his snares and wander the miles of fields around him. Without realising, the fields of lavender and foxgloves, the ashen-coloured trees, and the sapphire water of the streams became more familiar to him than the bustling streets and grimy buildings of London. Unlike London, the countryside was full of messy splotches of colourful fields, the sparkling water of the azure rivers and whistling wind in the clean, blue sky.

“Luna, it’s morning…” James mumbled. Luna made a half growl noise and stirred. It had been a long night for both of them. They had been up playing all night and they had only had few ours sleep. The excitement of being off school for 4 weeks was uncontrollable, as this meant that he would be able to spend as much time as he wanted with Luna. Which he wished could be all the time.

Although the fact of having a pet jaguar is pretty exiting, James would still worry about someone finding out about Luna and how that would be horrible, even though that he knew that, under the protection of the fearsome Ms. Grumbly, no-one would find her that easily. Until now!

One day, whilst stalking the edge of the forest in a blizzard, James’ ears picked up a terrified wail and the deep growl of Luna, in the depths of the forest. James rushed through the forest, not stopping until the clearing with Luna’s cave was reached. That was when he saw Billie Stupid, James’ school’s bully, screaming his head off. James quickly darted in front of Billie and slipped a dead rabbit from his pocket, which had succumbed to one of the snares. Slowly, he edged towards Luna. At the sight of the rabbit, Luna turned away from the bully, although he deserved to be eaten, and took the smaller prey instead. After that, James made his way through the forest and back into the village.

The secret that had been kept for so long was out into the open world. Later that night, he and Ms. Grumbly talked long into the night about how they could keep Luna safe. “Maybe we could move her to a different location like in the fields?” James suggested, “After all, there were five valleys that led away from the village and each valley had wooded slopes where surely an animal like Luna could live unbothered.”

Part 1 (Story based on When the Sky Falls)

James scowled through the window, tapping his foot with spite. His eyes skewered any thing that was caught in his gaze and not even happiness would cure him from his misery. It had been a long cold winter so far, especially when Ms. Grumbly had made him work day after day making sure her potatoes and her cabbages were in pristine condition. Every evening she would stroll out into the cabbage patch and spectate the boy’s efforts. James would be locked in the attic with the spiders if there was even a single spec of snow on her crops.

School for James was not as difficult as you would expect. He was top of his class in mathematics and literature, but would come out bruised and scraped from PE. But even so, Ms. Grumbly would show no sympathy and would whack the injured boy with her old, oaken walking stick and would send him immediately onto the cabbage patch. His teacher was a kind man named Mr. Boris who would never shout or get cross. James would enjoy his education and his teacher always ensured that his students got a good one.

Before James left home to be escorted to a safer home, he had a life full of only happiness. His mother would make waffles in the mourning and squeeze extra honey onto his waffles. He preferred his life in London and would wish to live anywhere than here in the countryside. He had 2 cats named Ozwin and Furball who would always sit on his feet so he couldn’t move. He enjoyed his home life and would do anything to get back to London.

Having major insomnia, the boy would peer out of the window each night, only spotting one being stalk the night. The boy had noticed that every midnight, Ms. Grumbly would creep out of the building and lift a
iron lantern above her head, illuminating the darkness, and then the old snake would stalk through the bushes and out of sight. James was inquisitive to know what the woman was hiding from the outside world…

One shadowy night, the cranky lady hissed to the boy,” I think it’s time…” The boy was lead through a forest full of nocturnal creatures, poisonous plants, venomous wildlife and many more unwelcoming sights, but survived, which Ms. Grumbly was surprised by. He dreaded every moment of his journey so far, and he had a lot more of the perilous forest to explore…

There were no clearings through the woods so far, and James was doubting that there would be one through the rest of the route. To his dismay, he was incorrect, but they did not stop to rest. Mainly because there was a snake scouting the terrain, but also because Ms. Grumbly ignored the pleads coming from the young evacuee. The rest of the route was like balancing on a knife’s edge, having only just avoided many dangers, but soon the evacuee’s mentor stopped…

They faced a cave. Not a large one. Not a small one. Just a cave. ” WELL? Are you going in?” The woman cackled as the boy took a step into the darkness…
