Old Bike 🚲

The bike lived in the past,

But now that life is history,

Fingerprints lived in its heart,

Still engraved into the dust,

It slept beneath the old white birch,

Therefore living as it’s grave,

The seat was heartbroken remembering the days,

When firemen rid its springy leather cushion,

The gnome was laying on the headlight in front,

Never named nor taken home,

That spiders web hung from the body,

Wet droplets kneeled on the necklace ropes,

Dead bugs drooping dead on lace,

Rust enclosing on the sugar blankets,

That took them up to death,

Rubber floated off the wheels,

Like a snake seeking food,

The bike knew it was the last few seconds,

Until it’s eyes met the heavens.

What You Are by Roxy @Belmont

You are an adventurous antique that holds many secrets from beyond the earth.

You are a winter wolf patrolling the frosty forest.

You are a lost lamp trying to keep warm in the dead of night.

You are  lost soul trapped in a genies lamp.

You are a lost heart trying to escape the sunken grave.

You are the scent of mum’s baking pie, bubbling in the scorching oven.

You are a Phoenix trapped in his own ball of fire, sizzling in flames.

You are a fierce dragon, flying through the fiery sky above the now ghostly village.

You are the heart that beats faster than the ocean breeze.

You are a mirror that reflects my soul and beauty.

You are a vicious nerve pulling me away from excitement.

You are the memory of a heirloom, being passed through generations.

You are the impossibility of a nimble slug, talking cats and a scorching Antarctica.

You are an albino raven, flying through the atmosphere.

You are the feeling of the sun, shining like a diamond.

You are the lost slipper, thrown to the side of the road, with no one to fit.

You are the end of my poem, to settle in peace.

You are…

You are a bouncy ball of lava being thrown from planet to planet.

You are an infinitely flowing waterfall rushing over the world, the moonlight unable to get through the thick cloak of water.

You are a tall tree shivering in the snow, protecting the cosy cabin from unknown intruders.

You are the sunlight that gives Earth life.

You are the victim of Monday’s tight, cold, clutching hand.

You are a rose petal hugging up against waves of pink.

You are the devil angry and red, screams of agony fill your head.

You are an owl hiding in the deep shadows.

You are autumn’s trees, crying out orange leaves

You are a shooting star like a mini angel dancing in the night sky.

You are a winter log burning in the flames.

You are a pair of feet sliding into a cosy pair of fluffy socks.

You are a snowman left out at the park to melt.

You are a penguin snuggling up your young in the frosty duvets of snow.

You are a butterfly in a room of moths.

You are You!
