A Child’s Sky Ship Adventure Chapter Two

A Childs Sky ship Adventure

Chapter Two

Tom stared into the darkness, looking puzzled he turned around to face his beloved new guide horse Winnie as to ask something.  He saw three things: his brother Tristan lighting a fire in the mid winter’s night, all of the unknown wildlife darting and slithering around the island and the sound of the crickets whistling in the silence while they settle down for night.

THE NEXT MORNING

Toby, the eldest brother, had been studying their old and crumpled map all night while lying in the pebbly sand.  But by his side all night without him knowing had been his fellow horse with a glistening mane despite the dull weather a flowing thick tail and massive but shining hooves off a beauteous beast.

Since Toby had been studying their map all night long he finally come to the realisation that they were on the Island of the Unknown which is where they were meant to be, however he had also come to the conclusion that there were two Islands of the Unknown and that they were on the wrong island and not just that because they didn’t know where they were either.

Just as he told his other brothers they all wondered how the horses were expecting them? How did the horses know? Did their parents know? Was it them who told them?

Prologue

People say that sky ships are the best way to travel: sunny skies, mind blowing views and the adventure of a lifetime.

Have you ever been on a sky ship adventure with venomous animals that can kill within seconds or horses that can whisk you away into the darkness?  You are about to hear all about a very entertaining but dangerous sky ship adventure.

Chapter one

As lightning crashed and thunder roared, the sky ship departed on its next adventure to an island never visited…

Tristan, was a very calm young boy about eleven or twelve, who had a very calm and sensible approach when in trouble. This was unlike his older brother Tom, who would always be in mid panic and his eldest brother Toby who was a dreamer and always had his head in the clouds. They waved goodbye to their extremely proud mother and father on the ground as the three brothers, Tom, Toby and Tristan set out into storm Pluto for the first time ever. The crew’s destination for this adventure was going to be the Land of the Unknown, no-one had ever even dreamt of going their let alone without any adults but these three brothers thought differently and were determined to get there.

As their parents walked home, hoping that there would be no arguing on the sky ship, they realised that they felt rather empty without their children. They caught themselves wondering what would happen to the brothers on their first ever adventure.

Tom thought that they should stop and have their lunch before they got hungry, but Tristan the youngest knew that they should take turns in eating and controlling the sky ship as they didn’t want to lose the light. They both looked at Toby, who was staring at his phone ignoring them, and asked again in unison who was correct. But there was no reply as he was lost in his own adventurous world of…his phone.

Once the rocky seas began to calm down and the mist stopped rising they were then finally able to see once again.

Tristan who was at the time controlling the sky ship suddenly shouted out: “LAND AHOY” he could see the island and started to head straight for it.

The ‘land of The Unknown’ had never had humans set foot on it and had only satellites hover above it.  It was a rather small island with palm trees and a jungle like forest but also had some things that the boys were certainly NOT aware of.

“We’ve reached our final destination” he said surprised and still alive (at least they thought they were on the ‘Land of The Unknown’)

As they slowed down, the boys hurled their bags over the side. They had no idea how long they’d be away. Luckily, they were greeted by three horses (one for each of them) one bay, one chestnut and one grey all with massive but wet shining hooves.

They nudged the boys towards a place filled with poisonous fruit where everyone is forbidden to eat. A place where the never-ending dens of venomous animals twist and turn. The boys had already forgotten where they were allowed and not. As the light began to go the three brothers set up their camp terrified about what was to come next…

Eight Of The Best Things To Take On A Sky Ship Adventure

Eight of the best things to take on a sky ship adventure

I would take a pair of springy boots to guide me in the correct direction in case I get lost in the midst of the light fluffy snowy mountains.

I would take a pair of jodhpurs that would automatically repair when they break or get ripped.

I would take a mini hot air balloon in case the sky ship blew up.

I would take a notebook so that I can draw where I want to be and then teleport there.

I would take a never-ending basket of all my favourite foods so I never go hungry.

I would take a box full of the same medicine that can cure any injury or illness within a few seconds of just one drop or spoonful.

I would take an energetic but at the same time funny and clumsy elephant to keep everyone entertained when feeling low.

But best of all I would take a Shetland pony to keep me company.

The Dragon

Dragon Poem

The dragon’s eyes are glistening in the sunlight, he pauses and poses for one split second then scuttles away.

The dragon’s eyes, still darting from side to side are deep china blue.

His scaly skin so bumpy like some pot holes in the middle of an ancient country lane.

His ridged teeth within his jaw like a pointed barbed wire, his tongue whipping back and forth as quickly as a horse galloping twenty miles per hour.

Now as brave and strong as a Doberman, his never-ending tail as long as a king cobra snake,

Suddenly pouncing into action, he travels across the sanded beach like a frisky horse saving its herd.

Its claws so sharp like a shard of glass on the kitchen floor.

Dominating terror in its neighbourhood.

This dragon is the head of his horde.

The Wonder Of Horses

The Wonder of Horses

You are the soft, gentle and calming spotty muzzle resting against my face keeping me warm in the mid winter’s night.

You are the thing that brings the most fun and joy into my weekend in-between homework and chores.

You are the funny but cheeky escape artist who acts like a magician disappearing into nothing but smoke into the distance.

You are the time snatcher who will never be caught in visible daylight,

You are the sound of calm happy munching on your hay or sweet sugary haylage,

You are the brown and green slobbery moustache after your daily meals.

You are the sound of hoofbeats whilst galloping through the fields with the wind blowing at our faces by sunset or sunrise.

You are the space between the high fences and the light blue summer’s sky when we are jumping,

You are the stress at a competition when we can’t load you into the trailer, already running late.

You are the sound of the sludgy mud I have to walk through while I turn you out in the field after a cold, wet and muddy lesson in the school.

You are the before school rush when I try to feed and muck out before school.

You are the fun in riding you bareback out to the field in any weather.

You are the endless hours of muckheap forking in the dark winter night,

You are the best.

The Craziest Idea Ever

I have never been to the middle of space, riding an elephant named Pom-Pom,

but I have driven to the furthest point of Cornwall called the Lizard.

I have never tasted lemon tea with a polar bear at Lerryn play park,

but I have nibbled on a whole raw lemon as a baby crawling across the dinner table.

I have never shared a bedroom with a crocodile snapping away at my bed, with his teeth as sharp as a dinosaur tooth,

but I have lived with four cats in our house in the outskirts of Lostwithiel.

I have never captured a giraffe with a skipping rope,

but I have skipped forty-five times in our garden

I have never been close fiends with a bull as fast as a lighting bolt zooming through the sky,

but I have formed a very strong bond with my horse at home

I have never had a sleepover with Mrs Twit with wormy spaghetti for tea as fresh as a daisy straight from the garden, eating it on the moon,

but I have had a sleepover with my friends waking up on Halloween morning with star her dog jumping up at me whilst watching You’ve Been Framed Gold.

I have never ridden a donkey as a minotaur roar echoing through the cave,

But I have galloped through the arena on my horse May who likes to think she’s as pretty as a princess.
