Disgusting Dragons

Amazingly, there are many different breeds of dragon but the most disgusting is the Disgusting Dragon. They are very rarely seen.

How to know you’ve spotted one

If you would like to spot one, you will have to venture to the depths of the Amazon rainforest. It has snotty, liquid-like wings, a long tail made of **** and claws made of bogeys. However, they are rarely seen because they are almost always bathing in the river.

What to do – I don’t know!

Stealthily, Joe crept into the attic. He knew from a few stories that this place was full of ghosts and dragons. Was it true? He had to find out. He opened the door. The walls were torn and scratched. Thunder crackled and Joe shuddered. An eerie noise was in the room. Joe shuddered. A red eye glowed in the corner of the room. “Was it a ghost?” thought Joe. A vague figure ran around him. Joe screamed at the top of his lungs.

Opposites

Ollie slowly tiptoed into the lunch hall.  “Sorry I’m late,”  he mumbled. He went to the line without a murmur. His mind ran through the series of events that happened after spelling lesson.

A second later Brian burst into the lunch hall and shouted “HELLO EVERYONE!!!”. Everyone jumped out of their seats for a nanosecond. Brian whistled as he ate his lunch.

The unknown

Tom stared around his father’s shed. He hid behind a box. Something was moving, something was alive, something. He slowly emerged from behind the box. Tom knew the shed was full of tools but what was this?

Summer

Ice-cream comes to my sight

I go to the hot, sandy beach

People swim in the deep, blue sea

Waves crash and boom

Surfers yell with joy

The ice-cream van plays its song

Barbaques sizzle in the distance

Ice-cream melts through my mouth

Mangoes – mushy and ripe

I smell hot tea

As well as roast chicken

Alongside orange juice.

Creepiness

Jason sat down on the mucky, poisonous grass. The trees seemed to whisper,’We are the trees. You are not welcome here.’ Jason shuddered. He had no friends to hang about with. A flower crouched down as if ready to pounce like grasshoppers. The bushes seemed to move creepily towards Jason. He was stranded. The wind began to stir up the earth. Icicles cracked and Jason jumped. His teeth started to shiver.

The old bike

The rusted old bike leaned against the ancient silver birch, yawning,

Its pedals creak like a baby mouse’s squeak,

Cobwebs surround its rotting cogs,

Its bell is an ear-piercing beep,

Handlebars jut out quick as a click,

Its saddle is as squat as a mushroom,

The handlebars –  all weedy and mad,

And something unexpected on the light – a doll?!

Our old friend sighs and goes to bed.

You are

You are a galaxy in the vastness of space, floating around.

You are the book I read when I have nothing to do.

You are the never-ending path I need when I am mad.

You are the new day I need after a horrible night.

You are the torch I find in complete darkness.

You are the laughter machine I need after experiencing an overwhelming moment.

You are the distance between a bully’s laugh and a friend’s grin.

You are the tastiness of ice-cream running through the mouth.

You are the reunion of a lost friendship.

You are the best.
