The Out of Date Bike by Connor @Belmont

The rusty, out of date bike hunched against the silver birch.

The handlebars are like wolverines claws rusted over.

The wheels are like a heartbroken sunset.

Spokes,

as thin as a piece of paper burning,

in the sunlight of a vast field.

Cogs click a drum and bass solo.

A conquering chain clatters.

Pedals droop in the sadness of waiting to be stepped on,

one last time.

The rusty, out of date bike hunched against the silver birch.
