The claw

Sneakily, Joanne tiptoed down the screaming steps, jumping over the tenth step because it always creaked.  When she had made it down to the very end of the stairs, all she could hear was the wind outside.  The cat then meowed asking her to let it out.

An hour later, Joanne entered the forest called killer forest.  Fallen trees were all you could see in this mysterious place, but no one knew how it had gotten its name. A few moments later, she found the burnt down cottage.  The sunlight reflected off the water back to the cottage.  A few fishes swam in the water.

Joanne sat on top of a fallen tree and watched the fish stride along in the water.  It was here she found a leprechaun.  All day she would wait, until her eyes closed to get some rest, dreaming of her meeting a leprechaun.

She then woke up, and had already come out as it shined down on her lovely thin blonde hair.  All of a sudden, a misty breeze came in.  Joanne shivered.  A branch was snapped. She wondered what it was and frighteningly shouted, “Anybody there?”

Scaredly, Joanne looked in the endless darkness behind her with her brain telling her anything could be there in the entire world.  Joanne then heard a growl and saw a claw. Joanne shrieked in a high pitched scream.

As her dreams shattered as she left the dream of seeing a leprechaun, she ran as fast as possible.  Thorns caught her legs as she ran along.  Joanne knew there was something behind her, as feet got trapped in the mud.

It was only when she had gotten stuck in the mud a large scream came from behind her.  A few moments later there wasn’t a single sound. Silence.  It was if the forest had eaten the beast.
