the wild
The wild
By Romilly
You are striped tiger roaming
the forest like the king of the
world.
You are a salmon colored
snake sliding down a winter
crisp field.
you are barn owl brown and
gold gliding through the winter
moonlight gracefully.
You are a cheetah roaring through
the savannah, heart pounding at every
step.
You are a bright parrot, feathers like
A rainbow shining on a sunny summers
Day
You are a Venus fly trap waiting patiently
For even the slightest of movement before
SNAP catching its pray in a split second.
You are a blue whale gliding smoothly
Through the shining water singing out
To other wales.
You are a starfish lying flat as a sheet of
Paper on a warm jagged rock planted near
The shoreline.
You are a sloth sleepily lying in a shaded
Tree, fur blowing gently in the Australian
Wind.
You are the impossibility of wooly mammoths
And megalodons living back on earth once again.
You are the wild.
I love the description of the parrot being like a rainbow on a summer’s day! Lovely imagery!
Fabulous work Romilly, I like your starfish lying as flat as a piece of paper!
Dear Rom,
I am so impressed by your poem and how you have brought all of these glorious creatures to life with this powerful use of imagery.
Very well done!
