You Are

You are……

The impossibly strong jaguar,

With a tempestuous attitude,

And teeth, as sharp as spears.

You are…...

The scrawny, dinky little tabby kitten,

Sweetly mewing up at his mother,

Whilst cleaning his silky little paws,

With great confidence.

You are……

The impossibility,

Of a flying kitten,

An elephant that can sprout

Rainbows out the end of its trunk.

You are…….

A snow leopard,

Grey-blue eyes, flashing, ominously,

Tail, long as an anaconda, held high,

Face calm and wandering….

Shimmering coat,

Glowing, in the frosty, night air.

You are……

pretty puppy, coffee eyes glinting, midnight black coat, dancing,

Rocketing straight for the sea,

Allowing the magical, soothing waves, to grab you, pull you in to,

Their magical, rather unusual, body.

You are……

A peacock mantis shrimp,

Ominous eyes a glow, devious little face, greedy,

Watching a crab, scuttle about by a multi-coloured bush of coral,

Many, legs brushing the ocean floor hungrily,

Smashers, twitching with anticipation,

Ready to…….. STRIKE!

You are……

An Indian squirrel, RAINBOW fuzz,

Sending, buzzes of new energy out into the rainforest,

Like shoots of magic.

You are……

A spectacularly cute, black, fluffy kitten,

Waving, to signal the end of this, animal party.

  1. I loved reading your poem, Georgie. What fantastic descriptions! I especially liked the image of the ‘scrawny kitten’ and the ‘rainbow fuzz’. Very imaginative work. Well done.
