Learning to Fly
Ty and Mariana looked after the baby dragon, it ate and slept until it became stronger. The dragonlet began to stretch his soft leathery wings as if he knew how to fly. Ty had become so attached to the dragon, he hated the idea of it leaving him, so he desperately tried to think of a way to keep it. He knew that Mariana wouldn’t agree to keeping the dragon because, deep down, Ty realised it should be with it’s mother. That night, when Mariana was safely asleep, he crept below deck and bundled the sleeping dragon into a heavy blanket and laid it carefully in his wardrobe.
The next morning Mariana went to give the dragon its breakfast and was astonished it wasn’t where they had left it.
