i want to paint
I want to paint…
I want to paint
the joy of family, holding a daughter in the air hugging and laughing as a boy looking through the window cries,
planets dancing in a river of stars, holding endless possibilities,
a picnic with strawberries and cake, the sun warming my back,
a sea throwing waves gently at the beach as the sun sets behind it,
the excitement of P.G.L and how my tummy lifts,
a feather dancing gently in the breeze.
I want to paint
The memory of my family standing around the twinkling lights at Christmas,
a field with wheat, flowers and a baby dear springing across,
destruction, a house crushed by a bomb as people walk past grateful its not theirs,
greed: a man eating money whilst others have empty plates,
the sound of leaves crunching, as I walk through the woods,
the joy of a baby laughing for the first time, as its mother looks down smiling.
I want to paint the hate of war on the crack of dawn like a monster crushing people’s
homes. I want to paint curious crocodiles with teeth as sharp as blades.
I want to paint my friends: angels kind and loving.
I want to paint a playground buzzing with children.
