I want to paint
I want to paint…
I want to paint a mystic wolf, howling in the moonlight like a steam engine whooshing against the wind,
the memory of my trip to Disney Land, all the tasty food hugging my taste-buds,
a yappy terrier frolicking in the saltwater waves,
a kaleidoscope of colours filling the sky; a rainbow,
a scarlet strawberry, tipping on the edge of a plant, waiting to be picked.
I want to paint the warmth of a loving family as they huddle together in fear like church mice,
the wondrous sight of a lamb taking its first steps, a rocking horse,
ducklings swimming like Olympic gold medallists in a shallow pond,
an ice cream van parked on a promenade, enticing tourists to its cool, creamy, mouth-watering goods,
I want to the torture of a medieval battle, swallowing up souls like a blanket of darkness,
the reflection of smiling faces in a mirror-like lake full of slippery fish,
a joyful class at breaktime as they munch on their school bought snack,
the vastness of space and the stars twinkling throughout,
a fluttering butterfly, fluttering past a field of green grass and fascinating flowers.
I want to paint the distance between now and then…
