The Forest Unicorn

The Forest Unicorn, which is the rarest type of unicorn, is the guardian of the forest. Unicornologists have ventured to the darkest areas of the forest to watch its extraordinary gifts. Their powers, which come from their horns, give them the ability of persuasion and manipulation; which can be countered by a rare muskroot in the Tibetan mountains. Many can be found by lakes, puddles, and nests, but the live-in trees they have manipulated to their fancy.

Forest Unicorns are easy to spot if you are looking at the right place or at the right one. Normally, they have their hooves covered in moss to camouflage in the ponds; with healthy greeny, orangy mane and tail. What about their eyes? A Forest Unicorn’s eyes are an emerald green when they have learnt the true meaning of nobility, but until then their eyes are a neon yellow. Underneath their wood-coloured fur, they have a layer of wood that they use to keep warm in their trees. Some are birthed with wings, webbed with precious metals, typically found near volcanoes, ones born with wings are hunted down by the NUHS (National Unicorn Hunting Service) and have their wings taken off so we can have staples.

A typical diet is algae, fish, and moss; to keep their wings relatively new many hunt gems hidden in high trees, while else eats grass, leaves and berries. All Forest Unicorn are kind are sociopaths when attacked by the NUHS. Others fly or collect food and the rest protect forest creatures or talk to them. These are an endangered species because they are killed often mistaken for their descendant the Woodland Unicorns.
