A Warning Disobeyed – Chapter 2

Louis saw something inside the man’s pocket. “What’s that?” Louis asked politely.

Slightly afraid, he said, “It’s my book of magic but I’m not telling you what it does, but whatever you do, do not touch it.”

“You can look around,” the shopkeeper was going to get some wood from the back to fix the floorboard.  He turned around, placed the book on the counter and then walked off behind the curtain to get some floorboards. The book was pulling Louis in. He looked at the book and it said Napoleon’s Masterpiece – do not touch!

He saw pages and picture after picture beautifully drawn and a description underneath: beaches, sunshines and major cities. Even drawing the dragons, this man truly was an artist.

A pen appeared in Louis’ hand, he was shocked but he wrote, not knowing why he did it. The purple cloth glowed gold and then returned back to normal.

He peeked around the curtain. And then he walked in, following the trail of burning fire torches that seemed to be leading him through the twisty turny maze until they stopped on a certain door.

Not knowing the door, he saw rubble. London had turned to rubble, his parents’ old house and he remembered the horrors he had seen! The red sky, the sound of German planes dropping the things that slay thousands.
