Phoenix Spotted by Eliza

Eliza Norman

2 days ago on Friday, lzzy Quill, 10 years old, saw a phoenix nesting on a nearby tree. lzzy, who lives on Tottenham Court Road in a block of flats, saw it while roller skating nearby. She told us that she tumbled across the road to get a better look and almost got run over by a bus. She was confused at first but was so excited when she saw it. “l was scared as soon as l noticed it but l was so happy when l figured it out! They’re so rare and special!” she added bubbling with excitement.

She told us that it had a peacock-like tail as graceful as a swan’s neck, orange feathers falling slowly behind it as it flew and a fluffy blazing coat. Lzzy felt nervous but so happy and excited to finally meet one she explained to us. “My next quest is to find a unicorn! l've heard people finding about them on the news! This is my best find yet!”

This morning, we spoke to the police who said “ Stay alert, they can bite but only on the occasion if you call them a bad name or insult them.” We also spoke to phoenix specialist,
Dr. Sues who told us that they are harmless only when they feel threatened is when they attack. Phoenixs are best to be left alone. lt will probably go away soon, but warning: They fly low so be careful if you're around it. This cheeky creature loves the sun so if you're looking for one a sunny place would be best.
