Ice
Chapter 2
,
The multi colored sky brightened up the dark wood. Trees swayed in the gentle breeze and leaves danced along the floor like tap dancers. Oakley took a step forward and stared around. What was this place. He went up to a tree and let his fingers brush against the rough wooden bark. Walking deeper into the wood, he gazed at the magnificent sunset, he couldn’t look away.
There was an open of a door and someone called, “Oakley, get here now!”
He was in trouble. A lot!
CHAPTER 3
Ice.
He scuttled, like a beetle, back to George and stood in front of him.
” I told you not to write in it,” he said, trying to keep his voice calm.
“Sorry” Oakley mumbled, looking at his shoes in embarrassment. Wondering what the punishment would be, he stood still.
” I want to show you something,” said George.” But I won’t forget the about punishment.”
They walked in silence to the new room, it felt like ages. When they finally got there Oakley looked at the door. George motioned towards the door they stood in front of. He didn’t know that was going to be there. Feeling confident he walked in. He felt a gust of wind that nearly knocked him off his feet and saw the glimpse of water. His favorite thing. An ice rink. He glided onto it as the door closed quietly behind him. Suddenly, there was a crack, and his feet sank into the piercing, ice cold water.
Weirdly, there were bubbles appearing right underneath the Ice. Oakley shook the thought of anything bad happening away and sped around the rink. He stopped worrying about it. He lay down and let the cold ice rub against his body. He was back in the water. Minutes later, the water was up to his thighs. Something grabbed his foot. Pulling him down, the thing beneath him grabbed his other foot. Everything stopped. He wondered if the shop owner had done this on purpose. Suddenly, the thing that was underneath, started emerging from the ice. The thing was horrible: a hooded cloak; bony fingers; and thin scrawny feet.
Oakley screamed as the hooded cloak glided towards him. What was happening? “STAY,” groaned the thing, reaching a thin hand towards Oakley’s face. There was a bang and the door flung open. George screamed some words and within seconds Oakley was in the hallway of the Emporium, gasping for air.
