Chapter 4
Harry carried on running through the hallways of the palace. He was being chased by Queen Victoria and lots and lots of guards. They were right on his tail but, of course, he didn’t know his way around so he just ran wherever he could. Harry had the jewels in his hand, and he didn’t even know what was so special about them, but he didn’t want to give them up that easily. His heart was pounding rapidly because he knew that if he made one wrong move, he would be caught.
As Harry turned the corner, his heart stopped. There was another large group of guards running towards him. He turned to go back but the Queen and her group of guards were there too. He was trapped. And he was going to get caught. Trapped, pressured and intimidated, Harry froze in terror.
He didn’t know what to do and they were getting closer and closer to him. But then he remembered that he had the jewels in his hands. He still didn’t know what they did but he decided to rub them anyway and hoped for the best. Harry felt a shock run straight up his arm but he didn’t know what had happened. He decided to walk forward and walked straight through them. He had turned invisible. But how? He could do whatever he wanted now.
He had gotten past the guards now but he still needed to find his way out of the palace. Relieved, he started to slow down and look for an exit but there were too many doors and he kept getting lost and forgetting where he had and hadn’t been.
He then decided to rub the magical jewels again and he didn’t remember much because he fell unconscious. When he woke up again, a few minutes later, he found himself lay on the floor of the emporium. Everything was like it was before, even the jewels were back on the tall, wooden stand that that were on before. It was like nothing ever happened.
