Chapter 3:

This had to be a nightmare! Avery punched herself on the arm just to be sure. Ow! No it’s not a nightmare. Terrified, Avery couldn’t move a single part of her body. Foolishly, Derek got all of the precious, shiny gold off her hand feeling proud but still wanted more! So he asked shouting “Where did you get all that gold?”

Relieved, Avery thought of a plan, a very smart one. “Well, all you have to do is let me go and I will show you the way, okay?” So Derek let her go. Avery ran for her life taking all the gold from Derek’s hands. Shockingly, the door was LOCKED!!! “You won’t escape now!” Derek said grinning, a very big grin. With a great relief, Avery saw an exit door that wasn’t locked! Well, it was a bit rusty. She opened the door and when she came out, she ran faster than she ever did. Avery ran as fast as her little legs could take her. She could feel her heart trying to escape from her chest.

Avery went back to the gingerbread house. Instead she got all of the gold, She remembered she had her phone with her so Avery went on Google map. She could finally go home again!
