Podkin Story – Chapter 3
Chapter 3
With a yawn, off then went. It was early morning and they were exhausted from the journey the previous day. They didn’t have a set destination but all they knew is that they needed to get away from there.
By midday, the couple had left the tavern and were well on their way. The journey took hours and so it was that by nightfall, they arrived at the front door of a well lit, old cabin. Without a moment’s thought they knocked. No answer. They knocked again. No answer. They strolled in; the fire was alight but nobody was to be seen. Lucille was worried that they had taken a wrong turn but when they checked the map they found their exact location right at the foot of the mountain: Mt. Fuji.
Searching the house, they found: an old stale pizza loaf of bread and a blanket. Lucille busied herself making the cabin feel more homely, laying out a blanket and their bivi bag , making the bed and wiping all cobwebs out of the corners. After she was done Nick felt more comfortable and began to settle down.
