The foxes’ adventures chapter 3
Remarkably, the wolves howling were the chiefs Mr and Mrs Skiloszi. They were covered in metallic armour and were strolling towards the door purposefully. On the other side of the door, goblins were standing ready to fight.
After a long, gruesome fight the goblins retreated. When the wolves had gone to talk to them Samuel saw his chance. Quietly, Samuel crept back to the burrow to tell the others what he had seen. Sally, who was shaken, decided they should set off straight away. Samuel agreed.
Not long after sunrise, the brave foxes set off towards Complicated Clifface. Their journey took most of the day and they were tired. Eventually, they made it to Complicated Clifface. Sol was very scared of toppling off the edge so he hid inside a nearby cave. Just before nightfall, Samuel and Sally stared at the stars when Samuel suddenly noticed it had been snowing a lot today.
Outside the cave, the wind blew ferociously. Inside, Samuel and Sally busied themselves by throwing stones at each other whilst Sol slept soundly. After they had finished throwing stones, Samuel found his fathers only gift inside his home – knitted bag. It was a sword with the words ,”I will return!” engraved on the back.
The roof of the cave suddenly started shaking as if it was going to fall in. Just a few seconds later, the same goblins from enemy territory came tumbling through the cave entrance. Shellshocked, Samuel stood and stared in the utmost disbelief. Immediately the three of them were tangled in spider’s webs. Samuel and Sally were furious but clearly Sol just thought it was a soft bed.
Seconds later, the chief wolves snuck into the cave. “ Trying to escape,” Sneered Mr Skiloszi. “I don’t think so,” he added. By now, the foxes were surrounded and being led back to the underground heart of enemy territory. As they were being walked over the plains Sally overheard some of the wolves talking about their next target. The treacherous caverns of Cavey Cliffs!
