The unknown shadow
Chapter 1: The planning of the escape
It was a cold winter’s night. Jake and Jack, who were both brothers, were having enough of their parents as they had never taken care of them properly and always forgot about them. They were planning to escape from their house and try to find a better place. They knew their parents wouldn’t even care anyways. It was late at night and Jack, who was the younger brother, had fallen asleep. Jake had to quickly wake him up and tell him that they were escaping. Jack was happy to hear this and quickly jumped out of bed to get ready to leave.
Chapter 2: Leaving the house
As soon as they had everything they needed, making as little noise as possible, they slowly crept down the creaky stairs making sure their parents would not hear. When they were leaving the house, they could feel the strong wind passing through their face. It was like the wind was telling them not to leave. It was very dark outside and the solitary trees were spread everywhere. Jack and Jake could hear little rustles from the bushes which always frightened them making them think that someone was watching them.
Chapter 3: The sighting of a shadow
A few moments later, Jack and Jake could spot a shadow in the distance that was really quick. This frightened them both as it felt like they were in danger. They felt like someone was hiding in the bushes and will pounce on Jack and Jake. It might have not even been a human, it could have been an animal as some animals like to wander around at night time. Having the thought of it being an animal, which was a bigger chance, scared the two brothers even more as some animals can be harmful.
Chapter 4: Going to sleep in the tent
Jack and Jake had finally found a nice spot that had a lot of space. They tried to forget about that shadow and just decided to lay out their tents and go to sleep. They still didn’t know how they would live the rest of their lives. Maybe they would eventually go back to their parent’s house but for now they would be living in tents in the wild. Sleeping in the tent was strange. They could always hear little rustles which made they jump a little and they knew that they needed to fall asleep.
