The Land Between Life And Death

In the land between life and death, I felt light, like a feather but heavy like a rigid stone pillar.

The fantasy of life felt far away, as death crept ever closer.

My mind wandered back to those lonely days, when only the wise trees would talk to me.

The days where I sang to the stars, on moonlit nights, where no one would find me.

Then I thought about the peace death would bring.

The quiet, tired peace that would rock me like a content parent.

Yes, death would bring peace.

But what about life?

The beauty of seeing the face of a friend every morning?

As I contemplated between the two, I felt the pull of sleep as it dragged me into its dark abyss…..
