on my way home…

On my way home …

I met a girl called Diamond,

Her eyes shimmered like a river on a sunny day

And her hair was a sharp silver that reflected all that couldn’t be seen,

Listening to her words was like the tension of watching an arcade game

 slowly moving towards the jackpot.

I met a boy called Lonely,

His eyes were like silent dark caves looking for a purpose

His hair wildly flopped in the breeze like an old teddy bear

 that’s lost its stuffing.

And his voice quivered like a pianists fingers.

I met a woman of Winter,

Her eyes shined like a glaze of ice,

Her skin was frosted as if she was living in a freezer.

And the long locks of her hair trailed behind her like a wedding vail.

She demanded cold words

And no matter the weather her voice was always followed by a cloud of silver mist.

I met a man of Sorrow,

His eyes drooped down like a bloodhounds when he looks at you,

His slow voice was like a sloth climbing up a sky-high oak tree,

And the pale skin that coated his body was cold

Like a summers morning.

I met a girl called Rainbow,

Every glance you took to look at her a smile spread across your face

Like spreading butter across a smooth piece of toast.

The time it took for her to arrive could be seconds or days

And you would never see her without sun or rain.

I met a woman called Twighlight,

Her eyes sparkled like a million pound diamond

Her hair was a shiny black like a sly panthers fur

And her voice was loud and confident like a wild celebrity.

I met a soldier called Wisdom,

Her eyes were like ticking clocks,

And her mouth was an unlimited dictionary

She spoke slowly and wisely,

Like an old owl.

I met a boy called Silence,

He spoke words that had no sound,

His eyes an ice blue

And his hand spoke to his soul speaking what he couldn’t say.

I met a girl called Normal,

Her hair a silk wavy blonde.

She spoke songs of life,

Her eyes a grassy green

And she danced to school every morning

like a happy gazelle.
