chapter 2
Chapter two
Greygate Manner was immense. The shadows started to creep up sending shivers down the spine of Billy and Kent. They started to walk down the sand stone path feeling every move getting tense and tenser.
They reached the large, oak door consumed in cobwebs. They opened the door together preparing each other for what they were going to see. They saw a light. Following the trail, it let them to his father’s office.
“This is where my Dad would spend all of his time, making plans and fixing my toys,” whimpered Billy.
Kent placed his hand on his friend’s shoulder and rubbed it to check that he was ok. Billy sniffled but continued to look for his mother’s ancient, gold necklace. After all, that was the reason they were here.
Kent and Billy saw the necklace near the light. Billy picked it up and kissed the picture of his family that was held inside the locket.
“This was my mum’s I never knew she kept it.”
“Well, I knew she had kept it,” barked a gothic voice.
Suddenly, there was a loud squeaking sound. Out of the shadows came a mechanical like no other. When it entered the light, Billy and Kent could not take their eyes off the strange form before them.
“You’re not a mechanical, are you?” wondered Billy, out loud.
“I’m not saying,” barked the man, “The only thing I will tell you is that your father built me…”
