Chapter 2

Longbrige Manor was silent. Outside, snow was dropping from Adam’s mum’s house and snow was falling heavily from the sky. It looked unwelcoming but Adam, Jezz and Josh gingerly walked up to the dark chestnut front door. The snow was crunchy as they walked. Adam grabbed a spare key that he had taken before leaving. Carefully, Adam put the key in the lock and the door creaked open.

As soon as they got in, they peered around he corner where Adam’s bedroom was. They ran to Adam’s room. Books were stacked on a shelf, his bed was still made and his black out curtains were open. They looked everywhere and the last place they looked was the drawer in the bed side table. Adam opened the drawer and there it was, a beautiful necklace.

Amazed, to see the necklace, he gingelly picked it up and opened it. He shock it and the clock and a piece of paper fell out. It was a diagram of an airship which would never need to land unless you made it land or so it never ran out. It would not run on fuel it runs on water.

Suddenly, the front door creaked open. Adam wondered who it was. Peaking around the corner, Adam saw that it was his dads friend, Jeno, there. Jeno said, “You led me straight to Toms secret.” He ran to Adams bed room and they went behind the door Jeno slammed the door shut and snatched the necklace out of Adams hands. Later, Jeno locked Adam, Jezz and Josh in a shed with nothing to eat. There was only one tiny window that a human would never fit through. Three chairs were tied against each other right in the middle of the shed. Jezz fluttered his wings inside Adams pocket. “Adam, there’s no point trying to escape. We are not going to be able to” said Josh, sitting on the far right chair. “We will escape. I’d just need to think of a plan.”
