Chapter 4
Elise dreamed. The sky-ship was being attacked and she was about to jump off, She grabbed the parachute and put on some goggles. But then she heard a familiar voice coming from below the deck, she dropped the parachute and went down the stairs. It was her Granda’s voice, she was sure of it. Elise ran down a long hallway as she heard explosions everywhere. The ship started falling, she had almost reached the voice but the ship exploded as it hit the ground.
| She woke with a start. Afternoon sunlight came shining down through the broken windows in the abandoned house. Jamie was sleeping but Patrick was pecking the ground for worms. He fell over just before he was about to eat a worm and stared at her with his black and blue eyes almost closed. Elise crawled over and started to wind the small, metal key. After a while, he stretched and muttered ” that is much better. Now it is time to get your watch and brother back. I saw the professor a few minutes ago and the scoundrel has made a teleporting watch! Get up you sleepy head. We need to go!”
“Thanks for waking me up I was having a nightmare.” Muttered Jamie, shaking. Yawning, he rubbed his sleepy eyes.
A moment later the trio were dashing across the fields, through the giant gate towards the outdoor lab. The watch was making bleeping noises. They watched as the professor typed some code into a giant computer. As he walked back to Brick bronze manor, Patrick squawked ” Time to go, GO, GO, GO!”.
Patrick, Jamie and Elise ran up the concrete stairs. The gang were right on front of the watch and the teleporting one right beside it and Jamie opened the back of the normal one. To their relief the plans were still inside.
“Thieves, Dirty scoundrels, robbers, burglars, stealers” screamed the professor, flying towards them. Without hesitating Elise grabbed her friends and the normal watch, she pressed a button on the tele porting watch.
Immediately, they were teleported to a world that was completely blank, the watch said “You have arrived at dimension zero”. The three friends looked around at the white world.
“What’s that” said Jamie shocked by the colour he was pointing at “Let’s find out!” shouted Elise running towards the colour “wait for me!” Shouted Patrick. Once they reached the colourful spec they found out it was Jeff Robertson Tied to a wooden chair. Elise untied him and gave him a big hug… but not for long because the blank world started to shake. “Come on time to get back to earth”, said Jeff “once we get there we’ll find the police and tell them all about it”.
Elise and Jamie saw the world around them change back into earth in a deep oak forest, animals scattered once they had appeared. There was a snowfall happing. Jamie smiled as he made snow angels and Elise started a snowball fight with Jeff. It was almost Christmas and she was happy that she could spend it with her family. Patrick made an igloo, went inside and snoozed. |
