Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Lucy dozed off into a dream. She was in a cosy cabin. She gazed at the blazing fire, crackling as she stared. She looked out the window and saw the snowflakes gliding to the ground. She wanted to ski so badly, she went to get skis. She was determined to start.
Lucy woke up peacefully, clutching on to invisible skis. The morning sun seeped out of the trees. The cool morning breeze touched Lucy’s cheek. The robins sang their harmonious tune. Darren was still asleep snoring loudly, while LightClaw hunted for twigs for his coffee bean coloured nest. LightClaw gazed at Lucy with his eyes, which was a wood colour. “Come on, Lucy, we have to go on our adventure and you’ve had a nice rest, c’mon!” LightClaw declared.
“Darren! Get up right now, we have problems to solve!” Lucy shouted, as she shook his body frequently.
Hours later, Lucy, Darren and LightClaw sprinted their way to the cobbled road to TulipTower train station. Inside, the guests chattered excitedly for their ride. Outside, the steward collected the passengers ticket as the horn hooted and a puff of smoke. Lucy had sweat dripping from head to toe. LightClaw stated, “A couple of minutes before they’re going to here- we better be prepared.”
Clawing his way through the secret tunnel, LightClaw guided Lucy and Darren from trouble. All of a sudden, LightClaw found the silver-eyed men with Lucy’s only thing she has left- Andy’s Pocket watch.
LightClaw quickly scooped up the watch. Suddenly, he turned around and gazed at the dreadful sight. His face went red with rage. Carefully, Lucy and Darren clutched on to LightClaw’s talon. The silver-eyed men needed to get off the train because it was taking them 1000 miles away! Darren stuck his tongue out at him. Lucy’s eyes filled with tears as she clutched her dad’s pocket watch.
A thundering bang was coming from the train. Lucy heard it and called LightClaw to turn around to the station. In the distance, Lucy saw her father with scratches and burns. Lucy felt sorry for her father. He had cinder from coal on his face and his eyes were weary. “Lucy! I am very delighted to see you.” Andy stuttered, as she groaned with agony.
Lucy, Darren and LightClaw help Andy and they each grab on his talon. They hovered through the air to safety and they smiled when they thought that they never have to deal with things like this again. As they flew through the breeze, they hugged and smiled at each other with tears in all of their eyes. They can finally live normally and happily.
