Life in Brandon
Life in Brandon
On Monday, I find a hidden Brandon rock
it glistened in the sunlight
its shiny shell waved at me,
luring me to discover more.
On Tuesday, I walk through the fields
while the sun was shining and the wind was warm,
I smelt the fresh scent of newly cut grass hovering around
the blue clear sky as it was dancing in the wispy wind.
On Wednesday, I saw a stag
with its enormous, golden, smooth antlers
and its tawny brown coat with its dark as chocolate eyes
that shine in the sunlight and make people’s dreams come true.
On Thursday, I touch the ruins of the Abbey
that sat in Bury st Edmunds
while i thought of the past that it had
and i saw the beauty that it had to hold and the creatures
that it attracted.
On Friday, I smell fish and chips
from the local chip shop
and the intriguing smell luring people in
and making people stomachs grumble from the amazing smell
On Saturday, I hear children laughing
in the local park while they’re having fun and playing with their friends
enjoying the part of their childhood they have left.
On Sunday, I dream of a fairy and a forest, a canary and a cake, a summer and a sum, a bee and a bouquet, a hand and a hat and a house on fire.
