My Miserable Life As An Evacuee

Dear Father,

Thanks for the Avengers book that kept me busy all the way through the journey. What felt like an eternity, we finally approached the other side of the continent. The weather was misty, the dull-coloured clouds and the rain that vaulted down was sorrowfully suffocating  the city. The complete opposite of what I expected it to be and even worse than our home. I stood with complete fear and without notice I was grabbed by a sweaty hand . The woman was tall, lean and sweet. She gave me a quick glance that was positive. Then I calmed myself down.

The woman lived in the south of Scotland in a small village called Asgard and she always kept me company. I finally asked about her name and surprisingly it was Mrs Natasha and she said her husband was fighting for the British Army. The rooms were very cozy and warm.I was first told to get the bread from the garden and after that she said I could rest.

My bedroom was very big and was home-like , it had lots of old toys from the past and had an old rusted colossus that was glitching because of its age. The bed was outstandingly cozy, making me fall straight asleep as soon as I put my bottom on it. The living room had an eight ball pool table , a ping pong table, and a football table. The kitchen was filled with things so sadly I couldn’t go in there.

After a long day, I was finally allowed to go into the kitchen and unexpectedly there were lots of sweets, chocolates , desserts, board games, brand new-toys and I got so happy. I jumped up and down and banged my head, the next morning I woke up with a bump on my head and I couldn’t wait to check out the stuff because it felt like heaven.

That afternoon, me and Mrs Natasha walked down the village and she showed me around and after what felt like a month we finally came to a halt. I got used to it and I never thought my surroundings would change. The sky had brightened up, there were loads of fairs, and lots of toys were on sale and we bought my favorite one.

My guardian signed me up for a school and I got in, everyone one is so friendly and positive. The boys usually mainly play football and some other sports. The girls normally play skipping ropes and pull each other’s hair. In the cafeteria they have such nice food and yummy desserts such as brownies, cookies, cookie dough and much more. For the starters it’s usually curly fries with fish. The staff are okay but still a bit strict. Our classroom is really colorful and the playground is like heaven. It has swings, football pitch, basketball pitch, slide, a play castle, a den and a place to eat your food when it’s sunny. The things I have to take to school are notebooks, pencil cases, gask masks, ration books, reading books and crayons. I have three friends and those are Cole, Jay and Kai that I play and talk with at playtime and dinnertime.

Thank you for reading this wonderful letter and please reply back from Corpse, Lloyd, Legion, Dad and you. Next week I’ll be able to send you another letter like this  but anyways keep you in my dreams and pray for me. By the way, is Dad back yet.Love you and send love from me to the rest of our family. Bye.

Sincerely Uzair,
