The letter
Dear mum,
Thanks for packing me sum hot spuds, their super yummy. I ate it on the ol’ train on the journey there, it kept me quite warm. This train is weird and I’m all by myself, I don’t even know where I’m goin, I miss you alot.
I arrived here and people picked who they wanted. I was almost last. When someone picked me they tugged at my sleeve harshly, it hurt a bit and then she said sorry. She seemed nice.
The lady that collected me was around your age and even though she was nice, ya never know do ye? She took me to her home and the view was amazing, you could see all the buildings and people, it looked like a piece of art. The place looked like Switzerland and even she said it was, no wonder her accent was so weird. It was very quiet and nice and when we got to her home she gave me some boiled eggs and beans all ready for me, it was swell! After that she gave me some clothes and let me take a bath with sum cold water. Her name’s Natalie, and actually, she’s very nice.
I ate my breakfast near a warm hearth, it was so cosy and soothing and when she looked at me she gave me a warm smile like you do.Outside of the house was a garden, the right size for me.There were vegetables and fruits growing and even flowers. She grew carrots, cabbage, lettuce, daffodils, sunflowers, tulips, grapes, oranges and apples- it was beautiful. There was also a shed that contained a bag of soil and what looked like a piece of rubbish was actually “gardening equipment”.
The best thing about this home is that I get to plant flowers, fruit and veges, with soil and “gardening equipment”. I get a bit dirty but I don’t mind since I have fun whilst doing it. I like this place but home is where I wanna be.
The town where I live is called Interlaken. It’s a very quiet area, quite a few people are here and school is still open. The thing I like about this is that there’s boas and lakes here, I wonder why no one comes here.
The school is very packed and I sit at the back, there’s 1 floor and 60 children need to fit in it. The stuff teachers talk abou is very boring and the teachers are very boring, they also teach stuff that I don’t even know yet. It’s so loud that I can’t even hear the teachers speaking most of the time. The other children here are very quiet but nice, a few children pick on me because I’m short, they’re so mean.
I love you mum and I miss you so much, I want to come home a lot but I can’t. Miss Natalie is taking care of me very nicely like you would do.Ta ta mum.
Your loving son – Henry
