Jim Anderson wanted to stay at home. He looked through the window and saw the fighting planes fly past the house. His brother is a soldier fighting in France. Jim would just look through the window and look in the sky seeing the planes fly past his house. It always reminds of his son and makes her cry and well up. 

He goes to a school everyday and learns there. He would go sit at his desk and do boring work. His teacher Mrs Hill was kind because she always helps Jim. When school was over, He walked to the house carrying his book with him. 

As he walked up the house he saw an old wooden house. He was interested in what was inside the house so he walked up the door. As he went up the door, Mrs Smith came up to him. “What are you doing here?” Asked Mrs Smith “You are not allowed to enter this house.” Jim ran to the other house and went to his room. 

He waited till it was dark. When it was dark, he came out of the house following Mrs Smith with a shiny lantern The only thing Jim could see was the moon and Mrs Smith’s lantern in the distance. Mrs Smith hung up the lantern and slowly opened the wooden door. Jim slowly walked up the door as Mrs Smith opened the door. Then Jim stepped on a stick and made a noise. Mrs Smith Turned fast and saw Jim. “ What are you doing here Jim?” Asked Mrs Smith “It’s night.” Jim was terrified. “What is in the wooden house?” Asked Jim. Mrs Smith opened the door and showed Jim what was inside. Jim was surprised as he saw the glowing, shiny gold. “ Don’t tell anybody!” Commanded Mrs Smith.
