Nightmare gazed  at Yasmin.  His eyes looked like they could stare into anyone’s soul.  Nightmare’s jet black rosettes could power its brain so fast, faster than Usain Bolt.  Its sharp canines can tear anything including rock. He can kill anything that is in his way. He is strong, independent and caring( only to his family). Slowly,  the leopard crawled towards Yasmin. He put his head against Yasmin. Yasmin was transfixed!                        

The luxurious leopard retreated to the large dog shelter. On the way back, the sleepy stars stood screaming.  “ I found  him all alone at the sea shore. He was eating anything he could find, poor thing he could have starved to death! He is our little secret. They will murder her if they see her.”  explained  Miss Mohammed.

That night,  Yasmin thought about Nightmare’s  anxious  amber eyes staring into her soul.   Something  strange about the leopard stayed in Yasmin’s brain.  Yasmin stayed up late,  setting up mouse traps. It wasn’t that much mice but Nightmare had enough food to last him 10 meals. The leopard would hunt himself, he would eat dung beetles, lizards and warthogs. He was often scared of Yasmin but after 2 seconds he would let Yasmin go on his back.  

Then one afternoon, whilst Miss Mohammed was making dinner Yasmin tiptoed to the warm wood… She was lucky that Miss Mohammed didn’t  see her.  Yasmin ran to Nightmare and gave him a big cuddle. Nightmare was sniffing Yasmin pockets for patches of halal meat that Miss Mohammed had given her. Yasmin changed . She no longer used to be afraid of the teacher. She would go to a different class that had Mrs Khan and learned there instead.  

Over the mid summer, Miss Mohammed saw the luxurious leopard and yapping Yasmin’s secret that bound them together.
