Chapter 2

Mukti started to stare up into Aliza’s eyes. Her jet black fur looked as if it would be able to camouflage into the dark night sky. Mukti’s razor sharp canines could break anything, such crystal clear diamonds. Her whiskers were as thin as wires, you could barely see them. Quietly, the wolf began to crawl closer to Aliza and smelt his slippers. Aliza was fixated.

The wild wolf vanished into thin air. As they both quietly returned back to their home, the moon was hiding behind them like it was secretly spying on them.

“I spotted him hiding inside an abandoned building. He was searching as much as he could just for food. He probably was extremely hungry!” shrieked Miss Cook “You have to make sure you keep him a secret. Or else they’ll take her away from me and I can’t let that happen.”

During the middle of that night,  Aliza began to have a dream about Mukti’s precious, glowing eyes searching throughout the dark, dusty and dull woods. There was something great about Aliza that Mukti liked. At dinner time, whilst Miss Cook wasn’t watching, Aliza would sneakily take food into her pockets to take away over to Mukti. The wolf would hunt and he would often hunt after birds and deers. Mukti would get creeped out but either way Aliza would sit down to stoke his fluffy fur.

Then one night, Mukti began to let Aliza pick her up and carry her all around the place. After a few weeks, Mukti would gently fight with Aliza since she was weak. Each and every day, Mukti would secretly be  looking into Aliza’s pockets for small scraps to eat. Aliza became different.

On his way to school she no longer walked to school, she tried to run as fast as she could. Over the warm summer night, Miss Cook saw how the lonely wolf was attracted to the lonely girl and their secret was safe.
