Chapter 2
Sylvie
The sun had hardly risen and the rabbits woke to a start. Something was making a very loud noise on the entrance of the shelter, it sounded like scratching but the sound was unfamiliar. They soon discovered a hazel-coloured eye peeping through the shelter. Phoenix let out a huge sigh of relief when she realised it was only the turtle messenger. The turtle looked very frightened and stressed because the Gorm had followed their tracks and were destroying what the rabbits loved. There was no time to waste, the Gorm was getting closer. Phoenix opened the map and knew they had to depart, so they set off towards the Crusome Caves.
As they trekked along, they were silent. The onset of the Crusome caves were overwhelming. There had been a snow storm during the night and snow covered the tips of the caves. Icicles hung from the caves like gnarled horns. The wind was uncomfortably cold.
Several hours later, they came to the centre of their location. The trio of rabbits found themselves heading towards the gruesome caves. Parker gave Phoenix a small nudge and screamed “Watch out! Gorm is approaching the outskirts of the gruesome caves.”
Phoenix had understood that they needed to be careful. The trio of rabbits all saw a jar of slippery eyes glaring into their tiny rabbit pupils, a colony of fluffy black bats swooping past them and goey, delicate spiderwebs spread around the caves. The rabbits heard a light sound of children, bones cracking and a fierce wolf howl. The rabbits sensed that a threat was coming…..
As they stood the rabbits could see that the Gorm was approaching by the caves. The rabbits were just over half a day away, they couldn’t go back now. The rabbits had discovered a stony path towards them, it led to the gorm gathering but they had no choice but to take the risk.
The quietest they had all ever been they tip toed slowly on their fluffy paws. They were getting closer and closer to the gorm gathering, their hearts were pumping really fast. Their hearts were pumping so loud they were sure the gorm would have heard them. The trio had spoke to soon, they had been spotted…..
