Chapter-2 The Maze Warren
Chapter 2 -The Maze Warren.
The next morning, Pip woke to the sound of scratching. Trembling, she tried to figure out what was creating such havoc. Inside, Pip could hear her siblings snoring away. Outside there was a loud echo of deep squeaking. She lifted one eyelid and saw Plat, the mouse-carrier, had a message from their mother.
He took the message from plat and read, “My rabbits you are not safe… Ultron has demolished the warren and is retracing your trails. You must move quickly.”
After reading this letter, Pip had awoken Pizzle and Puck from their sleep. When Pizzle woke up, his eyes had glared and turned red as if he was in desperate need of safety. They had collected their possessions and set off in a foggy atmosphere. frosty weather. They had now been struggling to escape the foggy vegetation with complete madness trying to follow the ancient map.
Finally, they had gotten out of the forest. It had been many hours, the tribe of rabbits could see a rough outline of safety and danger. On the map it showed danger on the right but safety on the left. The first building witnessed was a little food shack. Pizzle didn’t think much of it but it meant a lot to Pip. This had made Pip peckish. While Pizzle was not looking; she leaped in the building taking anything useful: a loaf of bread, a few carrots, milk and a blanket.
Suddenly, a voice came out from the distance, a groaning black silhouette shouting, “Hey that’s my shop…you’re gonna pay for that!”
Pip did not know what to do at this point her heart was pounding like a wrecking ball bashing against titanium, she wondered if this creature was a monster or a mythical creature. The shadow grasped his dagger holding it forward and crouching down. Pip had so many thoughts whizzing around her head like a flock of fly’s. Pip had positioned herself right against the back of the shack. It crept closer and closer. Its eyes flaming orange, thirsty for blood, but the darkness from the long winter nights made it harder to see.The only light giving Pip some visibility was from a lamppost in the distance. All she could see was the armoured walls that surrounded her.
Pip had regretted going to the dusty, dark, damp shack, the pale white fog blinding her, which was not ideal for a jet-black evening and trying to escape an unknown creature. If she was going to get out alive with all her supplies it would take a plan but she couldn’t think straight with her eyes swirling around as if it is in a whirlpool and suddenly, a light bulb dinged. There was a patch of grass near her which was not filled with stone so she started digging up all the mucky worm infested mud. As Pip dug she heard faint footsteps creeping to her way her heart was racing as fast as lightning striking. The thing was about to leap round the damp gruesome corner…
Then Pip arrived back to the trio as if nothing happened leaving that creature shell shocked in despair for his food back.
“Pip, where did you get all that food?”questioned Pizzle
“Um…knowhere.”replied Pip
“If you say so,”said Pizzle.
“I know why we struggled to go to the right place because i had the map upside down.”murmured Pizzle
Pip had her hand to her face at this point.A few hours later, Puck was snoring away and they had thankfully, journeyed to the next place of the adventure Maze warren.Scavenging around for a safe place to survive the night. The band had found a little bunker home with icicles bashing Pizzles already frigid head. Also outside they could see rotting roses and carnations dividing on the crumbling warren decaying in the mist , which was branching through out the warren.
