WHEN THE CAT CREEPS
Many months passed like the speed of a bullet hitting the center of a bullseye. Natalie and I would stroll off in the early hours of the night to see little Roxy, little Roxy was not little anymore she was a medium sized cat with the independence of a tiger. I always set rabbit traps now, and every day I catch a total of three cottontails or more and she bites at it ferociously. She runs back into the forest, over the weeks the wind made the soft blades of luscious green grass sway like waves of beauty. Beyond the cat’s home was a small forest filled with giant daisies, bluebells and foxgloves floating soothingly to the spring breeze. I had found a comfort letter that I have ever known.
Every night, I make my way into the forest to see roxy, she was now a full grown cat and had the courage of a lion, We always sit in the field and watch the stars glow their shimmery glow, the moon lapse its phases from new to full and we listen to the calming waves of the crystal clear nearby river filled with all kinds of underwater flowers and life. We have started noticing a beautiful, large, snowy white owl that flew across the plain every spotted night.
I am worried about the fact that somebody is going to find out about Roxy…Which is why I see her every night, Roxy keeps herself hidden in the bushes in the hot summer nights so nobody is able to see her, and in the daytime, she plays deeper in the forest where the squirrels rest and live, where butterflies flutter silently and where the trees interrupt the silence by rustling their trees, the odd remains of a pappus float around like snow particles, she does stay hidden a lot but she follows me around in the bare night.
About a week later, the secret was out. I was walking down to the valley and I felt someone was following me, I thought nothing of it and continued walking. When I reached the forest I bent down curiously and rustled the trees softly, and as Roxy ran out of the forest and into my arms, I heard a shriek.
“ What’s that!” Amelia screeched and with horror she ran off shouting “I’m telling Natalie!”
In shock and confusion on what I should do, I squeezed Roxy into my thin raincoat as she sat, comfortably as I ran home.
When I got home I saw Amelia shouting everything that had happened to Natalie. It was horrible to see.
“ Okay, Amelia go upstairs,” she exclaimed “I’ll deal with Lucy.” With that, Amelia stormed upstairs, making every step rattle and creak. “ What happened?” Natalie asked
“ Well.. I-” I was trying to exclaim as Roxy began wriggling out of my raincoat and jumped onto the floor, landing with a thump. “I had to bring Roxy home because of the terribly loud noise Amelia was making when she saw her, I didn’t want anyone else to see her.”
We thought for a moment figuring out what to do with the cat and we figured we could just leave her in the house and she could live here with us.
