Chapter 3

The summer holidays were very long like a slithery snake. Every night, I would go into the mysterious woods and make sure everything was still okay. I also go to the forest every night to see Rory. I instantly realised that everything was more familiar to me than the streets and buildings. This wasn’t anything like the city, it had flowers such as: roses, daffodils, tulips, sunflowers and lilies, they were all dancing in the wind. The trees were shivering whilst the grass was getting cut. The icy wind purled through the emerald, clear grass, I stood still and everything went still with me.

At night, I went running into the mysterious woods and sometimes Rory and I would just sit quietly and enjoy the silence. Every time I go and check on him, he always thinks that someone is around him. Later on, me and Rory saw an owl and that was the thing that he could always hear. It was that quiet we couldn’t even hear it fly past. One thing that I am worried about is that the secret might be revealed because I think someone is actually spying on me and my dragon. He would always go back into the bushes to have a peaceful sleep after I go. Rory kept still because if people went past they might hurt him.

The next night, Rory heard someone screaming and it sounded like 2 people were in trouble. I heard Rory calling me and I quickly rushed to the woods, he stood ready to run. I said, “Don’t move” to Rory. I also got him some food and I sat beside him because he looked terrified. My heartbeat was going very fast, I got up and went straight back to the village. What should I do now? The secret that I had kept hidden for ages had now gone out. Me and Mrs Pipes had a long talk all night about how the secret got out.. We were both thinking about moving Rory somewhere else. There were also a lot of farms around here so we were thinking about moving him there. If he did go to a farm then he would live peacefully with no one disturbing him.
