Poem for Pie

Poem for pie

I put on the blue mask and saw

The sea glimmering in the sun,

A smurf running around like a mad man,

An Oxford dictionary teaching me new words

I put on the green mask and saw

Grass springing up,

Leaves falling from big heights,

And trees crashing in high wind speeds

I put on the red mask and saw

A field of poppies,

An opaque ruby,

A school handwriting pen

I put on the yellow mask and saw

A massive room full of lemons,

The broad funnels of the Titanic,

The sunshine so bright.
